You scoffed." I've been trying to figure that out since I got here." You threw your arms up.

Kate rolled her eyes." You were going to figure out one way or another," She crossed her arms and stood up, her entire body language was the opposite of yours. "Do you know what Zalgo is?" She asked, tilting her head ever so slightly to the left." A God, a demon, or just Evil would be able to describe him. But he's much more powerful than what those things describe." 

"Well no shit what has a God ever done for me?" You gestured around you." This isn't exactly a penthouse with a pool and a jacuzzi." You felt irritated and frustrated. "find out soon, my ass. I should've been informed the second I was brought here." 

"Ok, Y/n, you do understand that the world you're used to and the world you have now been introduced to are entirely different. We don't care about anything that should've  happened. Well let you know what you need to know, when it's important for you to know."

Kate never looked happy, but right now she looked just as angry as you. And for what? She wasnt kidnapped and forced to stay in a house with a bunch of murderers. She isnt being constantly watched by some strange entity that can sometimes control her actions.

Oh wait.

Thats what Slenderman did, does, and continues to do her. Scars had told you about it, not in detail but you knew the bare minimum. Kate was kidnapped from her home, driven to the brink of insanity, then dropped in a strange place with a bunch of other people just as crazy as her.

But you weren't crazy, and you haven't killed anyone. Not on purpose. You felt a twinge of an emotion you can't quite explain but it made you more willing to listen to what she had to say. You moved towards your bed and sat down.You were tired of standing anyways too, the painkillers you took making you a bit tired too.

"Ok. Explain away." You looked up at Kate, her blue eyes really did seem reminiscent of ice. It matched her. Kate had her hair down, it didn't look like it'd been cut in a while but was still surprisingly healthy. Not the topic at hand, focus Y/n.

"Zalgo is powerful enough to...infect beings with a certain virus." Kate began." Zalgo mostly infects humans, that's what he thought he did with you." She shook her head." But slenderman kept insisting that there was something about you." You nodded at her to continue." Alongside his virus, Zalgo has his own species- well kind of. It's weird. But, we suspected you might be one of these Zalgoids. Now, you're starting to morph into something we don't really know how to handle. The transformation will continue however far, and then you too will become an extremely powerful being." She pauses and rolls her eyes. "Which is stupid because I could beat you in a fight right now."

"Lies, continue with the explanation. " You were glad she was keeping a lighthearted tone to this, but you were getting seriously worried now. You were a human, a whole human. Growing a weapon on your hands doesn't make you a demon right? You needed to know more.

"You won't be living here for long," Kate whispered. Almost as if she herself were sad to say it. You hadn't been here long, but jeez getting rid of you already? "We know a few other people who aren't quite humans or monsters. But only a handful close enough to watch over you, and ensure your complete transformation is safe for you."

"So this is it? We were just talking like nothing was gonna happen this morning. Then everybody left and I eas alone with somebody who doesn't even speak." You facepalmed. Today was definitely very overwhelming, you should've stayed inside." Being bored wasn't supposed to make things more complicated. I just got slightly more comfortable with you people." 

Kate was silent the whole time. You hadn't been here long, and you couldn't quite tell why you had gotten comfortable with Murderers. But they started to seem like friends to you. The room's silence gave your stomach a terrible sinking feeling. But then a new question dawned on you.
