Unforgiving

I stared into the Unforgiving's eyes
As the Unforgiving towered over me
And stretched a slender hand
For me to take

The leaves howled and the trees moaned
And the ground, felt under my feet, cold
Yet the Unforgiving kept it's hollow gaze
Pointed directly at me

Peeking beyond its dark cloak
Gray bricks form a twisted path
That whispers misfortune
With every step you take

The crows sing peril
As they perch themselves
In the branches above
Looking down at you in pity and sorrow

Yet you let the Unforgiving take you
Down that sickening path
Not noticing, not realizing,
That forgiveness mourned over your grave,
Crying in vain that this fate was undeserved
