She continued to follow the man down the hallway. She wasn't always a good judge of character even when her instincts are still intact.

She reasoned that it's partly because she died and partly because she has a natural fear of larger predators.

She was only a little porcupine after all.

She bumps into him when he stops near the opening where the living room was.

Why did she have such a large house that you have to go down a hallway to leave the kitchen? Probably because of the bathroom between the two rooms.

It was a strange layout and she couldn't for the life of her to remember why.

She held his arm lightly with her hands and peeked from behind him. There were intruders.

One was wearing a hat and the other was wearing a coat.

She gripped the man's arm a little tighter and leaned into him

She gripped the man's arm a little tighter and leaned into him. She was afraid for this man. There were two of them- he was just one man.

She couldn't bare the idea of her newest resident getting hurt on his first day. She ran, screeching, a way.

She didn't notice in her panic that that she could be heard and the intruders went pale and prayed it was just a TV left on.

They tried to run. The man glared at them. It was like he was there, however, if you see how hazy his eyes had glazed over.

The intruders didn't make it out of the house. They look terrible as they were later tied up. They were both cut up and bruised as they sat unconscious on the floor.

She had floated up to the attic to hide and wait. She trembled and worried, but never went down to check until after the police left.

She felt like something was off but couldn't figure out what. Earlier before when she noticed the intruders.... Did she actually touch the resident?

It's impossible! She can't touch anything with out focusing on it for long periods of time. The pin on her dress doesn't take much effort as it's so small.

She must have imagined it, she expelled the thoughts from her head.

The man was okay. He seemed to be a military man, so that's why he was so calm right? Was he calm? She hadn't actually looked at his face to be honest.

Regardless, she was relieved and floated up to him. She circled him to be sure. Yes, he was fine physically.

Mentally? She couldn't read his expression. She finally got close enough to get a good look of him.

She saw hints of his sharp fangs. He was a big bear with big teeth. She couldn't tell if he had muscle or if he fur was shagger than she thought.

She decided to keep her distance again.

Now that she thinks about it, she hasn't heard him talk yet. She was curious.

 She was curious

"Oh wow... he's handsome....", she felt the words slip from her mouth before flushing heavily in embarrassment.

"Eek! Why did I say that out loud!?", she zipped a few feet a way with her hands cupping her cheeks.

She thought her ex was really cute, but this man was handsome! On par with some of pretty lady actresses on the tv that she'd crush hard on.

Just why was it so difficult to turn the channels when her residents were out of the house? She wants to watch the pretty women kiss in the movies!

She thought back to when she was alive- she wasn't sure what it was like back then but she could vaguely remember liking a girl. Knowing herself, there was no way she asked her out.

She's use to pining after all of the woman and men in any form of media or entertainment she could interact with.

Some of her residents were pretty or good looking but rarely her type- Serious women or a man with warm smile and a sweet laugh.

Someone that knows how to kiss with their t-

Her face became a blaze and she tried to fan herself down with her hands.

"No more thinking! Stop stop stop! S-so what if he's handsome! He can't see me! Stop thinking about kissing!? No tongue! No one can even touch me let alone shove their tongue in my mouth!? Stop talking you idiot!!! Good lord if I wasn't already dead kill me now....Ugh....", she dragged her hands over her face and groaned.

She stayed like that for a moment. Ignoring any movement behind her.

"Things were so much easier with my ex....", she lamented over how comforting and nice it was when he was with her.

"He's probably an old man by now...sigh....", she turned to look at her resident.

How odd.

The man was desperately downing the water in the sink's faucet as it ran down. Had he been running a fever? Is that why his face was turning quite the red of red?

He looks unwell. Perhaps the incident today was affecting him in someway, like maybe stressed him so out that he's in a panic? It was almost sundown after all.

She wanted to help. She knew how!

He was burning up and his eyes were unfocused- darting a round and making unintelligible sounds. She was very cold to the touch so touching him should cool him a bit.

She'll have to focus on her upper body more than she usually does.

She floated closer, not thinking about how she wasn't distancing herself like wanted. She leaned closer to his face and pressed her chest into it. Her arm rap around his head as she gave him a firm hug.

A few minutes should be good enough. Soon, he stopped moving and in fact he was standing still and felt very stiff in her arms.

She pulled back to see that his nose was bleeding all over her chest. She also noticed that he fainted. He fell backwards onto the floor.

"Oh no! Did I kill him?", she muttered frantically

"Oh no! Did I kill him?", she muttered frantically.

How could that have happened? She was only trying to help! Did she suffocate him somehow? But that impossible!

She settled on him simply being overwhelmed by todays events and shut down.
