I swung the door open immediately and threw my bag by the side and there was Austin, backing me.
Just who I was looking for.
"Austin!" he turned back to me and I noticed his phone over his ear. Oh, he is in a phone call.
"...no, you didn't hear a girl, it was just ummm...a cat" I shot him a confused look.
How convincing!
"Yeah, no problem Leah but...yeah I gotta go. No! I would love to talk more but I got...ummm... stuffs to do. Bye" he ended the call, the girl wasn't even done talking.
"What's up, Charlie?" he asked, slumping back on the couch.
"I'll let that slide 'cause I need your help" I sat on the arm of the couch, facing him. "It's because of your prank, isn't it?" he asked, mindlessly typing on his phone.
"Yes and the principal is gonna call any minute from now"
"That sounds like a you problem"
"Well, I lied. He doesn't know the parents aren't home and you gotta answer" his eyes shot to me. "What?"
The telephone at the side table began ringing. "Yeah, you gotta answer for me, please"
"How did I get involved?" I pulled him up from the couch. "I had to, just answer?"
"What do I get if I help you out?" he crossed his hands over his chest. Is he seriously bargaining right now?
"Uhh... there's this girl, she....is hot and she kinda ask about you" he shot me a look. "Well, if you don't want her, l could just tell her"
"Hello, this is David Parker speaking. Who's calling?" he answered immediately and I sighed. I heard voices on the other side and he nodded.
Grabbing the telephone box and began pacing. "Oh, she did that?" I rolled my eyes.
"Charlotte can be selfish, impulsive, indiscipline and stubborn sometimes..." I shot him a look. How long have we known each other?
"Detention? I mean if it's necessary-"
"No!" I whisper yelled, pulling him to my direction and he grinned. "Okay, I'll talk to her. Thanks for calling" he hung up the telephone and I stared at him with wide eyes.
"Goodnews is you're not getting detention" I sighed. "Bad news is now I have to give you a talk"
"Oh please"
"You shouldn't have done that, Charlotte" he said and I turned to him. "And I'm really... proud of you" I grinned.
I mean, it was his idea.
"So, about the girl?" he sat down back on the couch. "Would you take Bianca?"
"Get out" I laughed.
★★★
"Yeah, I just got down. Where are you?" I asked Bianca over the phone, throwing my bag over my shoulder.
"I'm almost there" She said, I turned to see Chloe on the couch. "I gotta go" I ended the call. "Hey, aren't you getting ready for the game?"
"Not yet" she answered with a mischievous smile. Cole came downstairs all in a white track suit and a duffel bag over his shoulder.
"I thought you guys left a while ago" I said. "Yeah, but for some reason, this bag wasn't in the trunk and we had to drive back home" he replied.
"Oh, that's quite unfortunate, brother" Chloe said walking up to him and he shot her a look. "I don't need your sympathy"
"That's a rude thing to say to your-" The doorbell cut her off. "I wonder who that is" she headed to the door.
