Look at her
__________

This experience is new, For the first time in forever I feel something.

Certain emotions, the mode that we were all taught from young: happy, sad, angry or yearn are the only my brain could recognise.

There's a girl who is full of surprises, a kind hearted girl who deserves the world who is soon going to turn into a woman, her name is Cleo. Someone who acts like a girl yet dances..

I mean look at her, I would kill for her, I have killed for her.

My eyes eat up every inch of her performance, the way she articulates moves. In her own little world.

Then when the orchestra falls to a halt. I'm the first to leap out of my seat, roaring with applause. The curtains close.

They open again and there she is standing front and center interlocked with her much older classmates, in sync they bow. My chest leaps when she finally acknowledges me. I couldn't help but smile at her small intake of breath. Our eyes gleam at eachother.

As if there's a time machine, this moment replays again and again, my hands stammer together. I struggle tearing my eyes off her she's put me under her spell again.

I don't fail to notice her tan cheeks redden as she's forcefully pulled off stage. I almost trip over myself trying to steal one last glance at her before the curtains divide us once more.

She's everything I've ever wanted in a girl. I'm so proud of her already. And this is only the beginning.
______

Any minuete now.

Going through the withdrawal of euphoria is painful. Now that I've gotten a glimpse I'm addicted.

I bite back a yawn while I watch all the parents sipping champagne and talk about their children.

Each time the door at the top of the stair swing my head snaps towards her only to see somebody random. Eventually everyone has left but us.

The member of staff that couldn't seen to be able to take their attention off me stares at the back of my head one last time before walking out.

I wipe the look of boredom off my face as soon as the double doors open. My smile falters at the amount of luggage she's heaving on her shoulder. But she looks keen on carrying it all.

My new favourite thing is seeing her reaction everything she sees me. It's like a lost child finally found their mother, she's lost without me.

What an angel, she doesn't even know it. Patience is a virtue.

Inhale her scent discreetly when she takes her last step down the spiraling stairs. We exchange hello's and I almost laugh at the unnecessary tension she's caused.
It's only a matter of time till she'll be comfortable with me around.

Her curls bounce with every speed bump the car endures. I sneak a peak at her naked collarbone when she shuffles in her seat.

To keep my hands to myself, I tap a steady rhythm on my thigh, just imagine it's hers. I give it a painful squeeze. Compusure.

Cleo slyly turn her head to me and I try not to notice her picking her fingers.

"Jesse?"

Jesus help me, my core swells with pride when she says my name. I do only what I can to show that I'm listening. I don't trust my words at the moment.

She sniffs then very quietly asks, "How did you know I was performing"

I exhale before saying
"Well, I overheard. Your mother talks about you. Shame she couldn't of been here,"

giggles fill the atmosphere, I wish I could look at her smile, and drive at the same time.

"No she doesn't!" She the curves of her lips form a downturn smile. She breathes deeply "Mom doesn't care about me. Or my dance-" she herself off with the most adorable yawn.

I want her to keep talking about her life. I want to feel like we have a connection and I'm not studying her.
Cleo's mother. She's simply pathetic.

But I can't say that can I? Sigh

"I think she does, she just doesn't know how to show it." My face portrayed no certain emotion.

She shuffles further into my seat.

We sit in silence for a couple seconds.

"Did you like the dance?" Her voice is praying for validation, I'm so willing.

"You were the greatest young talent I've ever seen." I say with upmost sincerity. We grin at either till the lights change from red to amber.
_______

I stop the car infroot of her driveway,
I exit the car first shutting my door swiftly trying to not let any cold wind inside. I almost want to coo at her frowning face as I open the door for her.

She steps outside wrapping her coat tight around herself, I'm deadly jealous of that coat.

"Thank you for dropping me off." her bottom lip quivers. She wants to say something else, I can tell. I hate to see her so hesitant.

"No problem, and if you need anything don't be afraid to ask." I reassures lowly. Please ask me for anything.

I can't take it anymore watching her shake like a leaf. Opening my arms and hoping I don't scare her away.

When she doesn't move my confidence decreases but she inches closer like a cat about to catch a mouse and it makes my heart race.
Soon enough she let's  me embrace her. slyly resting my nose near her glands. I melt into her cuddly body and smell of vanilla and coconut.

I'm reluctant to peel my arms off her when her phone starts to vibrate, the sound of it's ringtone interuppting.

.Make a note to figure out what the melody is.

She is quick to decline. It was Lei Lei. Whoever that is. The light illuminated her face dreamily.
She offers a sheepish smile. And looks at her shoes again.

She said thank you again, and scurries to the front before i can even  can say 'No problem'

What I didn't miss was the sheer look of urgency in her body language. She hides it well, but I know it when I see it.

She'll break soon.

I figure that I've had enough today. I  drive away, stopping at the next block. I open my phone.

🔴 1:54:47 secs

I grin at my own excellency. Then drive home.
______

I get home at about 3 AM

During the ride I had time to think.
First of all.

.Cleo's ringtone is a song called 'Hype boys' by a korean girl group 'Newjeans'.
.To get into her dance facility I would have to become a member of staff.
.I start on Monday at the 'Costa' shop that is conveniently her favourite place to go.

Each day, my purpose is to end up in her life. Either by wooing her over or showing up when she's most vulnerable.

I prefer the first option of course, always have. But it always end up going left.

This time it's going right.
