RM has known about Kim Jisoo even before she was confirmed to be joining Interpol.

What? You think he doesn’t have contacts inside the agency who can tell him of comings and goings within the organized crime division? You think his family would be as powerful as they are and stay out of jail without having some people on the inside tip him off to investigations or anyone snooping around where they shouldn’t be?

He thinks that it’s interesting they brought her all the way from Korea. He thinks it’s interesting that knowing this made him feel a pang of homesickness, sadness. Some leftover and foolish boyhood longing for a country that gave him nothing but his life, and feels like it took away much more.

He doesn’t doubt that her work there was impressive. He does doubt whether she is prepared for the brutality of the Italian mafia. Most people are not.

It is quite irritating to hear that she gets one of his contacts Aldo Russo fired. A harassment and discrimination case that made her feel targeted at work for her race and ethnicity.

RM knows Aldo is a racist fuck. He didn’t need the guy to look him in the eye or treat him like an equal. They’re not equal. The Moretti contributions to the man’s gambling debts kept his family from being destitute. RM himself volunteered to make those payments in person because he certainly always felt a sense of satisfaction at reminding the man just who was in control. Who had more power. Aldo can say anything and everything he wants but at the end of the day he is just a watchdog, no was a watchdog.

The title of consigliere was made official upon RM's graduation from law school. He thinks that’s his father’s sick way of feeling like a good parent, to make sure RM completed ‘higher education’. And anyway, he was doing the job before the schooling. But it helped. He now knows more about contracts and fine print and where he can manipulate wording to benefit their interests.

He’s never felt more secure in his place in the family. He has the brain, the background, the trust, the money, and now the title. His father relies on him heavily. Jacob hates it, but again Jacob hates everything to do with RM and has since they were young.

RM was 9 years old when stefano brought him into the home. Stefano spoke to Elena in hushed tones, talked about how the kid's parents were dead and how he had no one. He’d have been left on his own on the streets. He’d have been killed. Elena - who RM calls mother, though the word has always stuck in his throat - has a big heart and couldn’t bring herself to leave him to fend for himself.

Since then RM considers them as his family, his own people even so Jacob feels disgusted to do the same.

There’s a knock at his door and he hears a woman’s voice identifying herself as being from Interpol. He knew they will be coming but he also knows he does not leave trials of clues or any lead for them to trace unless it's Jacob. His idiot of a brother moves carelessly and it is going to get them all into trouble sooner or later.
