Jisoo would probably think RM is stalking her, or something. He's buying flowers for his mother at the market because she invited him for lunch and he doesn't like to show up empty handed. Wherein, Agent Kim is eating an ice cream cone and walking along with a canvas tote bag hooked over her arm. She's wearing denim shorts that are...very attractive on her. He tries not to stare at her legs.

She smiles when she sees him. That's new.

"Mr. Moretti," she says, and it's quiet, like she wants to be careful in case anyone around wants to hurt him because of his last name alone.

Or maybe she just doesn't want to be seen talking with him. He's going to let himself believe it's the former.

"Ms. Kim. It's a lovely Saturday." What else is he supposed to say to her? They only ever talk about business. He's not going to do that here and he suspects she isn't, either.

She eyes the bouquet in his hand and raises her brow. "A lady friend?"

He curses himself for the way he feels like blushing. "My mother."

"Oh," she says in surprise, brows raised. She licks her finger when a bit of ice cream runs down her knuckle. Jesus Christ, she looks sinful. "I wouldn't have taken you for a mama's boy."

He clears his throat. He doesn't appreciate the moniker, but he can't very well get into all that with her. "It's a long story." She grins like she's figuring something out about him. "How's work?"

Her smile only grows. Her ice cream continues to melt. She takes a long lick and mercifully isn't looking at him as she does it.

"Picking up," she replies, and he lets out a chuckle. "One elusive family, though."

It shouldn't make him laugh. It shouldn't. She's joking, but she isn't. He doesn't doubt for a second that if she found enough evidence of anything he'd done, she wouldn't hesitate to arrest him. If he's being honest, it was a relief when he thought she was back in Korea for good.

"I was surprised to see you," he admits, and that's...He shouldn't have. At least not so sincerely. "I wasn't sure you'd come back."

She nearly looks touched. Pleased. Like he's being sweet, or something. Which he isn't so sure about. Does he like seeing her? Yes. Because she's beautiful. And he likes the way she doesn't back down from him. Likes the way she treats him like the bastard he is.

This look, and the way she was watching him that night in Rome, these are the things he doesn't know what to do with. The thought of her lipstick on their shared cigarette. The cross at her throat looking incredibly wrong on her for all the right reasons. Those things he can write off as base.

When they act like they like each other, it makes him fucking anxious. Because it can't be real. She can't possibly. She's disgusted by him and his kind and she's made that abundantly clear in each of their interactions. She's doing it now.
