"Run away with me."
I started to laugh, thinking that it was just a joke, before I caught his expression. He had a straight face and I could tell that he was dead serious. I immediately stopped.
"You're serious..."
"Yeah, I am. I want you to come with me."
He dropped out of college, ruined his parents' dream of having a lawyer as their only son and left his parents house just to do music in Seoul. Crazy, wasn't it? He's asking me to come with him, and it's not like it's an easy choice. I'd have to leave everything to come with him.
"That's not an easy choice, you know..."
"Please. Just think about it. I can wait."
He asked me beforehand if I could let him camp in my living room for a while, just until he found a place in Seoul. I looked at his duffel bag, which was on his lap, and then straight at him.
He looked calm for a person who just asked me to run away with him. He told me his parents practically disowned him for dropping out and that was why he just packed his stuff and left. Yet I really couldn't imagine his parents disowning him; I already met them once and they were really friendly.
"Tell me when you decide, alright? Take your time, I don't mind waiting,"
From the way he formed his words, it was like he confessed to me and I was a girl with mixed emotions on what I should reply to him. But I pushed that thought away. It was weird to think like that, seeing how we were such close friends.
"Hey," I called, reaching up and tapping his arm. "I'll come with you."
The words came out of my mouth so quickly that I wasn't even able to register what I was saying. Once I did, I clapped a hand to my mouth, my eyes wide, but for some reason, I didn't want to take my words back.
Believe it or not, I actually wanted to come with him.
