Forever Young : Im Jaebum

「 chapter ten 」

"Have you ever thought of marrying Jaebum in the future?"

Jinyoung's expression was so serious, it almost made me burst out laughing. The question was so ridiculous, but then, I had the feeling it was a serious question to him.

I felt my cheeks heat up.

The six were staring at me, waiting for my answer, and Jaebum... Well... He kept his head down, but his ears were bright red. I didn't know what to say.

"What about you, JB?" he turned on Jaebum, when he probably realized I wasn't going to say anything for a while.
"Why are you asking me? It's not my turn,"

And just so you know, we're currently playing truth or dare for some reason. Jaebum invited Youngjae, then Youngjae brought some other friends and now we have ended up playing this game.

"Just answer it!"
"If she's fine with it, then why not?"

God, Jaebum, stop it.

The guys fell silent, then I could hear some suppressed laughs.

"Are you fine with that?"
"Must I answer now?"
"Yes, you must."
"I'm not old enough to get married,"
"No, technically, you are," Youngjae corrected.
"Youngjae, please keep quiet," I sighed.

He frowned, then his lips formed a pout as he continued to watch us.

"Just give a simple answer. A yes or a no." BamBam told me.
"Yes, then,"

Cue the teasing.

Then they started teasing us.

See?

But soon enough, Jaebum called for attention again and said that the game continue. Fortunately, they listened to him, but then again, they always do.

"Let's just change the game," Yugyeom suddenly said a few rounds later.
"To what?" Jackson asked.
"I don't know. To something else that has less questioning."
"Let's just eat." BamBam suggested, causing everybody to look at him, including me. "Besides, it's about time for dinner, anyway," he added, to which Yugyeom nodded in agreement.

They always seem to have the same thoughts, don't they? Yugyeom and BamBam?

"Should we order pizza, then?" Jinyoung asked, who got nods in reply. "JB?"
"Yeah, I got it,"

He was already dialing the pizza place's number before they even finished talking. He didn't even bother to ask what kind of pizza, so I'm pretty sure ordering pizza is a daily thing for them.

"Set three, please. Ten of them." he spoke. "Yes, that'll be all."

He gave other necessary details then hung up. During the time he was ordering, Jackson had started to walk around the room mindlessly.

"Why'd you order ten?" I asked him.
"Just in case somebody's too hungry,"

When he said that, he was looking at Yugyeom and BamBam, who immediately started defending themselves.

"You can't blame us!"
"Yeah! We're growing boys!"
"I swear, Yugyeom," Youngjae spoke up. "If you grow any taller, you're going to hit the doorframe every time you walk inside a room,"

I stifled a laugh as Yugyeom started hitting Youngjae's arm repeatedly, not even caring that Youngjae was older than him.

Three hours later, at around ten at night, after all of us finished eating and talking more, Jaebum was suddenly right beside me, his hand circling my wrist.

"Yah," his lips were so close to my ear, I involuntarily shivered.
"What?" I asked, staring at my hands.
"Let's kick them out already. I want to sleep."
"How do we do that?" I looked at him.

Thankfully, he already pulled away a bit. Enough that if I looked at him, we wouldn't accidentally kiss or anything. That'd be an awkward thing to happen now while his friends are around.

"Hey, Bam," he suddenly called out.
"What?"
"Don't you still need to finish your project?"
"Don't remind me about that! I'm almost done!" he whined.
"Isn't the deadline tomorrow?"
"Geez, you're not my mom, JB,"
"So you're not going to finish it already, is that it?"
"BamBam..." Jinyoung frowned at him. "You should finish it."

BamBam let out a groan, catching Jackson and Youngjae's attention.

"My baby, what's wrong?" Jackson immediately went to BamBam. I raised my eyebrows at this weird happening.
"Fine, I'll finish it."
"Guys, you should probably go help him," I said, suddenly understanding what Jaebum was trying to do. "So you know, he'll get it done faster and you guys can hang out afterwards,"
"Sure," Yugyeom shrugged. "We'll just come back after we finish it,"
"Don't bother," Jaebum shook his head. "We'll already go to sleep when you leave,"
"Okay," Jinyoung nodded, starting to get up and brush off his jeans. "Have a nice sleep, you guys. We'll get going now,"

Then he motioned to the others to stand, which they did, and within five minutes, they were out of the house.

I crawled onto the sofa and lied down, hugging a pillow to my chest. Jaebum came back, then he sat on the floor because I wouldn't move over for him.

"You should really go to sleep now," he said, a soft laugh escaping his lips. "You seem sleepy,"
"I'm not. I'm just resting my eyes,"
"Ey..." he laughed loudly and I could hear him get up and walk over to the sofa. "Sit up, will you?"
"No."
"Can you at least show me your face?"
"No."

He was silent for a long time. So I ended up sitting up because I wondered where he went since when I called him, he didn't answer me.

"Aish, why are you there?"

Then it turned he was there right in front of me, I just didn't see him. Why does he keep surprising me today? First, it was half an hour, and then it's now.

"Just go to sleep,"
"Why?"
"You're obviously tired."
"Fine."

I gave in too easily.

But I really am tired for some reason...

"Go on, change into your pajamas, then come back here. I'll sing you a song before you go to sleep," he told me, a smile on his face.

I did what he told me, then I sat down beside him. He put his arm around my shoulder, then leaned in closer, that his chin was against my shoulder.

He started singing the song he made. He sang it softly in my ear. It sounded so nice I swear I almost fell asleep right there since my eyes were already closing halfway through the song.

"Thanks for being here with me," he whispered, after he finished the song. "I love you,"

I almost didn't hear that because I was so sleepy, but my lips moved on their own, automatically, even. He pressed a kiss to my forehead just as I replied.

"I know,"
"You'll stay with me, right?" he asked.
"I always will. I can't imagine life without you anymore."
"Because we've been together so long?"
"Exactly."
"And because you love me?"
"Yes, that, too,"
