'welcome home.' someone says. she is not human. you look at her. you feel like you cannot speak, like the words have been sucked out of you. w h a t i s s h e d o i n g t o me ? you wonder.
'i am mother.' she says. she is not your mother. she is a being of sorts, with a eye for a head. you have never seen her before, yet she seems so familiar, like an old forgotten memory.
the home is very familiar. it is like a dream house. no, a nightmare house. it brings waves of nostalgia over you for memories you don't even have. you try to look away, but you keep finding yourself looking at the house and at mother.
you feel the words in your throat and speak them as soon as you can, 'where am i? why am i here?'. mother has no answers. you feel the slight anger washing over her and reaching you.
'never to worry, bliss.' she says. 'why don't you explore the house?'
before you can answer, mother is gone and you are left in front of the strange house. your strange new home. you feel yourself being drawn towards it, and before you know it you are standing in front of the door.
you reach for the doorknob, but it is turned slowly open before you can grab it. you look up and see someone who looked like mother. they gasp and run away. you try to chase them inside but they are already gone.
a b i t o f a s t r a n g e h o u s e . . . you think as you walk down a long hallway. the house feels so familiar, like you grew up here. but you didn't, you've never seen this house before. you want to leave, but you cannot find the exit.
as you wander through hallways and rooms, you wonder if anyone else is in the house. you can feel mother's presence looming over you, so you assume she's in the house. you can't act up because mother sees all.
suddenly, mother is in front of you.
'hello there, dear bliss. let me show you to your room.' she says. you have no time to respond before you are transported to a room that looks like it belongs to a young child from the 2000's.
there is someone (or something) else in the room. they look somewhat like mother, but at the same time nothing like her.
'be good, children.' mother says. when you turn around to see her, she is already gone. the other person in the room comes up to you.
'hello there, i'm juno.' they say. 'you must be bliss, mother told me that i was going to have someone else in my room.'
'i hope you like the room.' juno says, sitting on what seemed to be their bed.
as soon as you can muster up the courage to, you ask them a question - 'where am i? how did i get here?'
juno looks up from the floor.
'i will tell you later, bliss. for now, i cannot speak.'
