The Power Of Music (The Original Draft)

Camera lights flashing, another sold out show with fans screaming "Bentley", and a stage waiting for him to rip it to shreds; what was just a dream 8 years ago, is now Bentley's life. When Bentley and Cameron discussed him taking his music more serious, he wasn't serious; not at all. He was just blowing smoke, joking with Cameron. Bentley's music was never to be taken serious because he only did it for fun. It was more so a hobby to keep his mind occupied off all the things that had previously gone wrong in his life from being left at the alter, to his supposed to be wife dying in a car crash while he was in Cancun enjoying what was supposed to be their honeymoon. His music was never meant to be taken serious. However, when he posted "Another Cinderella Story" one of the songs he made, it went viral. Bentley was so shocked that it went viral, that it fed his drive to continue writing, and to take it even more serious than he had planned. Over a 7-month period he released song after song, and just like "Another Cinderella Story" went viral, all his other songs followed suit. With his songs going viral all over the internet it was only a matter of time before he landed himself a record label contract. Just that happened. One of the executive producers for Warner Bros. Records was strolling the internet trying to find a new breakout artist and that's when he stumbled across Bentley's music. At first the producer wasn't impressed with Bentley's sound, but astonished by the fan base he had, the producer kept listening. That's when he clicked on Bentley's song "Another Cinderella Story." Amazed by the sound of that song, he knew he couldn't let Bentley slip away and he just had to reach out.

Bentley still remembers the day he got the call from Warner Bros. Records, it was December 20th 2012 at 8:30 in the morning when his phone started ringing. He was reluctant to answer the phone, but looking back on it he's thankful that he did. That phone call changed his life. To Bentley it was like Christmas had come early as he and Warner Bros. Records scheduled a meeting. They scheduled the meeting for after the holidays so that Bentley could spend Christmas and New Years with his family and it also allotted him the time and opportunity to break the big news to his family. Bentley was so over the moon with excitement that he couldn't wait until Christmas to let his family know. Soon as he hung the phone up he, immediately called his parents. When he told his parents the big news they were so overjoyed with excitement. They felt as if this was finally the breakthrough that he needed to get him out of the slump he had been in the past year and a half over Michelle. After he got off the phone with his parents he called Cameron. Since he tells Cameron everything he couldn't leave him in the dark on the biggest news of his life. He thought about waiting to tell Cameron so it could be a surprise but knew that, news this big he couldn't keep hidden long. When he told Cameron the news Cameron just couldn't believe it, he was in complete shock. He just kept thinking back on the conversation he and Bentley had a little over a year ago where Bentley stressed how much he wanted to start taking his music more serious. What started out as a joke, was now becoming a big life change; a life change that a lot of people dream of but very few get to live and experience.

On January 4th 2013 Warner Bros. Records flew Bentley out to Los Angeles, California for their big meeting. When the plane touched down at LAX Bentley felt the excitement consume him. He was so excited that it was hard for him to contain it. He got off the plane and walked out the terminal gate wearing the biggest smile you had ever seen. When outside the terminal Bentley started looking for his chauffeur that Warner Bros. Records told him would be picking him up from the airport. Finally, Bentley saw a tall black guy decked out in the sharpest black suit and topper hat that you'd ever seen standing in front of a stretched out Cadillac Escalade limousine holding a personalized sign with his name. Bentley was in state of awe. He could not believe all of this was happening to him.

When the limo pulled up to the front of the record label Bentley just took a deep breath as he knew he was moments away from changing his life. He stepped out of the limo, shook the drivers hand and thanked him for the hassle of being his chauffeur. As the driver pulled off Bentley just stood there looking up at this gigantic building, and he could feel his heart began to pound out of his chest. He slowly started taking steps toward the entrance of the building and with every step he took he could feel his hands become more and more sweatier.
