The Grocery Store

No matter how innocent it may seem, you should never pay for a person's groceries.

*beep beep beep beep*

The sound of someone else's  items being scanned as a waited in line patiently

Having a good day, I smiled and proceeded for the cashier to continue doing their job, I didn;t want to make this more draining for the person to do their job, plus it's a Monday, everyone hates Mondays

¨alright sir that'll be $11.30,¨ The man said while waiting for the man to take out his money and pay.

The customer only laughed in embarrassment when he realized that he didn't have enough money to pay for his things, so instead, I decided to be a good person and pay for his things. If I were in this situation I would want someone to do it for me so why not return the favor?

¨Sir if you don't mind, I'll pay for your items, whats the harm in that?¨

He moved aside and let me proceed to pay for his things

It wasn't so bad he only had a few things

A can of tuna

A loaf of bread

A bag of cuties

Some fruity pebbles

and some mayo

¨Thank you¨ The man said as he sheepishly smiled and grabbed his bags

¨ It's no problem......uh¨ I said in a confused tone

¨oh sorry, let me introduce myself, my name is Jake, Jake Sim.¨ He said as he held his hand out to shake it

¨Pleasure to meet you my name is *  *¨ I said as I returned the handshake

At that moment I felt like I had just made a new friend back in kindergarten. except it was a supermarket and not a school

¨Well I hope ill be able to see you again sometime,¨ Jake said as he walked out of the store with his bags

Instant Gratification is defined as short-term satisfaction, for example paying for someone's groceries, making a new friend, having a nice day, enjoying your favorite restaurant

Things of that sort fall under the category of Instant Gratification, everyone loves happiness in the short term than in the long run because most people are more focused on the now than let's say 20 years from today.

I got inside of my car after buying myself a couple of snacks and heading home

The next day I decided to go back to the supermarket for 2 things

1.) To see my friend Jake

I know I may sound desperate but I feel like after I met him we may really become close 

and  the second reason 

2.) To get some more creamer for my coffee

If you thought that I was only going there to see Jake then you're wrong..........okay you're partially right but hey I said what I said..... I need more creamer for my coffee *cough cough*

LO AND BEHOLD

As if my guardian angel heard my wishes and prayers there he was

Damn this man is hot

¨Hi friend,¨ He said as he smiled and waved to me before walking  towards me

¨Hi Jake,¨ I said while smiling at him, meeting him halfway before walking inside the supermarket with him.
