"THIS IS THE LAST STRAW HUNTER!!"

Maybe I'm dreaming.

I really hope I am.

Nope, not a dream.

My manager Stephen barges into my bedroom and nearly drags me off of my bed by the ankle as he continues to rant about how my career is over and how no one will ever pay to see me preform again.

God this guy needs a hobby.

"Woah woah Stephen it's a beautiful Monday mornin you couldn't just give me a call?"

No Hunter I couldn't just "give you a call" he says mockin me "especially not when your drunken self is on every single cover of every single magazine inside every single shop around LA!" I could feel him lose his breath at the end of his long winded rant.

"What in the world are you talkin about Stephen?"

I don't know Hunter you tell me he says as he reads aloud *HUNTER WRIGHT SPOTTED MAKING A DRUNKEN FOOL OF HIMSELF AGAIN AS HE CAUSES THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS OF DAMAGES TO ONE OF THE MOST EXCLUSIVE CLUBS IN BEVERLY HILLS*

Fuck not again.

"This is the fourth time in six months that you've managed to end up on the presses bad side. Hunter what is going on with you??

"Nothin Stephen it's nothin, you know just as well as I do that a sore loser like me was not gonna take losin that CMA award to that pretty eyed newbie lightly, I just needed to blow off some damn steam!! Sue me!!!

The only thing I can't seem to remember though is exactly how I blew off said steam.

"And you couldn't just go to a rage room like the rest of us?" "There's thousands of them open all night all over LA so that knuckleheads like you won't do crap like this.

He proceeds to throw the magazine on the bed right next to my head.

"I know I know Stephen and I really am sorry it'll never happen again I swear."

"Your damn right it won't!" "Can you even comprehend how many calls I've had to make to assure that none of those pesky tabloids get their hands on the the security camera videos of what happened last night?"

No, you can't because you obviously don't care."

"Hey!!" "I do care I care more than you can even imagine this is my career your talkin about and other than my own skin my career is all I have", I say feeling aggravated that he would even suggest something like that.

"Yeah, shit you're right Hunter I'm sorry it's just that I'm getting a lot of shit from a lot of very powerful people about your recent behavior.

I start feelin a little at fault for all this.

"Look I'll admit I have been on a bit of a bad roll lately but it's nothing a little vacation to the Bahamas can't fix so can you please get out of my room so I can go back to sleep, I'll see you at rehearsal next week.

I start to close the door in his face before he stops me.

"Nope we're not done here."

I groan.

"Look Hunter I also talked to your publicist and we've come to the same conclusion."

Here it comes...house arrest time, Lord if you're real strike me down right now.

"We think it's best if you go home for a little while at least until this all blows over".

"What do you mean home, I am home."

"I'm talking about your real home Hunter"

He can't be talkin about where I think he is.

"Kentucky, Hunter."

Shit.

"ABSOLUTELY NOT I MADE AN OATH THAT I'D NEVER GO BACK TO THAT STUPID LITTLE TOWN AND I PLAN ON KEEPIN IT!!"

"This is not a request Hunter it's a demand."

"Now you can go back to Kentucky for a while and get yourself together or the label can drop you as a client and you can say goodbye to your career."

The severity of this whole situation hits me like a ton a bricks.

My worst nightmare is losin the only thing that makes me who I am.

So hesitantly I give him my response.

"Fine I'll go to Kentucky"

"Great it's settled then, I'll see you in a few months stay safe and for gods sake Hunter stay out of trouble."

I flip Stephen off once he turns his back and walks out of the door setting off to buy my plane ticket sealing my fate for the next few months.

I guess it's true what they say "you can take the boy out of the country but he'll always end up comin back."
