Chapter 2: The infamous Fire Fist

'Sabo's POV'

I quickly got out of Miss Mama's class since I still have PTSD from her cruel lessons, and don't get me started with the bizarre punishments she does when you don't listen to her lectures,
anyways, I head towards my locker and looked at the time to see that today's class is held by Sir Mihawk, I think I have history class with him today, I'm pretty excited since I love history.

I walked towards my locker to grab my history textbook, I mostly have time since Sir Mihawk takes his time to come to class, I mostly think he's meeting Professor Shanks quite often now a days.

"Hey, did you hear?", I heard a voice across from me, I don't wanna eavesdrop too much, but gossiping something in school is kinda serious, so I listened in.

"About what?", another voice respond.

"Fire Fist is somewhat gonna join this fundraiser, like, can you believe it?".

'Fire Fist?' I thought for a second, then continued listening in.

"No way, he probably doesn't give two darn shits about that".

"That's what I was gonna say, but it was true, someone witnessed that he joined because of his crush is joining in that fundraiser".

"Bro, for real? Just for a fucking crush?".

It got me thinking, who the heck is this 'Fire Fist' like I don't think there is a student named like that. Nah, I can't keep thinking about that, I might as well ask Ivankov about that. I closed my locker door and headed to Sir Mihawk's class, hopefully I'm not late.

I made it to class with Sir Mihawk not in class yet, typical. I took a seat at the middle of the row of chairs, and sat there. I got ready for the lesson until someone in my back tackle hug me, I turned to see a little raven haired guy. I smiled and patted his head, "hello to you too, Luffy".

Luffy grinned so wide at me just from greeting him, honestly it's kinda goofy but innocent, "hehehe! Hey Sabo!", he greeted back as he let go of me. Luffy comes to the student body office from time to time, and we kinda bonded from his visits, he mostly acts like a little brother for me and I like to be a big brother for someone who never had a brother before. "Hey Sabo... I'm lost at this one again, I know you taught me this before but I suddenly got confused again... can 'ya help me up, please".

I looked over the textbook with the lesson that he was having trouble with, I sighed and signaled him to come closer. He beamed up and came closer to my table, "alright then, like last time what your gonna do is to multiply both of the same numbers with the same integers and then add the exponents, for example; 11x³ × 22x³ are the same, so you multiply its whole numbers, which gives you...", I trailed off as I compute the two numbers, "...242, then you add the exponents, which is the small floating numbers on the x's, you add 3 to 3 and you get...", I paused for him to know the answer.

He took out his fingers and started counting from 3 to 6, "...uhm, 6?" He questioned.

I smiled and beamed "yes Luffy! It's 6".

He kinda looked very proud of himself as he jumped, "yay!! Now I know!". I giggled at his silly antics, then he look at me straight in the face, and spoke "... what's up?".

I backed away a bit and respond, "oh... it's nothing really".

"Hey, don't avoid it from me! I really wanna help you get it out of your system!".

What he said just now was kinda mature of him, even tho I'm the older one here, I sighed and spoke "...fine then, if you insist...someone was saying that there is someone named Fire Fist that joined the fundraiser, and it kinda stuck with me".

It took him a bit to process, till he respond, "oh Fire Fist? Well that's A-".

The doors opened to reveal Sir Mihawk, books in hand. Everyone froze until he spoke, "go back to your seats at once", everyone scurried back to their seats including Luffy, "alright everyone, let's get back to the lesson".

We all settled in as Sir Mihawk started class, I couldn't focus well enough, there were, like, 20 people who joined the fundraiser, and then probably more soon that are gonna join later on. I just can't get the thought that someone named 'Fire Fist' would join, I never heard of someone like that in school, nor have I ever seen them in school. Still, I'm very determined to find out who is this mysterious person is.

'Luffy's POV'

Man, I really was this close to reveal Sabo who Fire Fist is, I mean, Ace would likely kill me if I reveal to him who he is, and might get in trouble with them. I looked over at Sabo to see that he isn't paying any attention on the lesson, but he has that determined look on his face that is not a good sign, I am just praying that Ace won't get mad at me for almost telling.

"You almost WHAT?!", Ace screamed a bit in my ear, but we got nothing to worry since we are at the rooftop with just me, Ace, and Marco. "I can't believe that you almost told him that, Luffy do you want me to get in trouble?".

"N-no! I really didn't mean to!!", I replied as my eyes started to tear up a bit, "I'm just trying to be a good friend to him, and help out what's bugging him!".

Ace paused as to what I said, 'Oh Lord have mercy on me with what's coming to me', I prayed as I waited for Ace.

"So you joined a fundraiser, what's up with that?", Marco joined in as he took a puff of smoke, "you never rarely do kinds of shit like this, what changed?".

Ace turned away from me and to Marco, 'Oooooh Thank you so much!'.

"Well, why not... I mean, y'know", he respond or kinda stalling for time.

I did hear from the rumors that he joined because of his crush joining also, what a simp. I was also gonna consider joining since Dad really wanted me to join some school related events. "No I don't know, elaborate for me Ace", Marco spoke taking another puff of smoke, seriously aren't cigarettes the main cause of asthma, I know this because of my grandpa.

"Well, you see... I, uh...", he spoked nervously, like what is it that makes him to confess?, "my... crush is, uhm... joining it...".

...

"...are you serious right now?", Marco spoke as his and my jaw dropped. He only got a nod from Ace, which his face was so red. "Holy shit... like dude, I won't judge or anything, but just for a crush?".

"Ohoho! I knew it! The rumors were true!" I finally spoke out of my trance which made the both of them snap towards me. "Sabo told me that he heard rumors about you joining the fundraiser just because of a crush, and that was what bugged him at Sir Mihawk's class earlier", I briefly explained.

We then hear the rooftop door swung open and later hear footsteps, Marco immediately put out his cigarette against the floor, while I quickly make my escape out of sight by someone, same with Marco and Ace, but Ace was the one who got caught by that someone, then I hear a familiar voice calling out to him.

"Oh hey there, I didn't know you come around here...", it was Sabo.
