Chapter 12: A lovely strange day

'Koala's POV'

As my alarm clock's music went off, I tried to grab my phone due to my sleepiness. I eventually grab it from my bed side table and pressed the 'dismiss' button, I look at the time on my screen which was now 6:14 a.m. my usual time to get up and get ready for class. I climbed out of my bunk bed, grabbed my hair brush, and started brushing my orange bright hair. Even tho it's a bit short. I look over to my roommate's bed that was at the top bunk, which to my surprise is still asleep. As I finished brushing my hair, I went into the kitchen to make myself some toast and tea, I grabbed the tea kettle and filled it with water all the way the line, I lit up the stove and placed the kettle on the lit up burner. I placed two pieces of toast in the toaster and pushed the dial down, hearing that ticking noise coming from it.

I looked at the time in the kitchen's wall clock, which was provided by the school and NOT the student body, and the time was now 6:28, the time I would get myself for bath. So I walked to the bathroom, stripped myself and stepped inside the shower, as the steaming water hit my whole body, I could hear the distant whistle of the kettle but later faded, 'maybe my roommate is finally awake' I thought to myself. I just got out of the shower as I was done, I grabbed the blow dryer that was plugged in already and started to dry off my hair. As I was finish in the bathroom, I peaked to the kitchen and saw my roommate making herself something in the same burner I heated my kettle.

"Oh, morning Koala", she said while adding some salt in the pan, "I'm making some sunny side-up eggs, want some?" She then grabbed a egg from the egg carton that I'm now seeing it.

"Uhm... sure, thanks Yamato! Really appreciate it", I replied with I smiled at the gesture. I walked back to the room and closed the door gently, headed towards my closet and picked out my usual attire, a white blouse with lilac laces, a dark plum color skirt that was knee level, black high socks and leather shoes.

Once I was all dressed up, I walked out of the room and went to the kitchen. I saw that the toast was now in a plate with the eggs on it, the tea was perfectly brewed in two cups, but I didn't see Yamato anywhere. So as any sensible person would do, I ate without her, as I took a bite of the toast with the egg on top, it felt heavenly! It was so good that I ate the toast in just two bites. I then took a sip of my tea, which was brewed so great also, I never knew that she could make such a delicious breakfast.

Once I was done, I grabbed my lavender tennis shoes from the shoe rack, and opened the door as I rushed to my class for today.

I walked along the hallways of the school, observing anyone doing shading activities, then I got greeted by Belo Betty who was waving at me, "Hey Koala Bear!", she said with the nickname that she always calls me.

"Hello BB", I greeted back with her nickname as well, she walked towards me and I asked, "is there something you need right now?".

"Yeah, I kinda need to talk to Sabo right now, he wasn't at the meeting yesterday, and I was hoping if you've seen or somethin', so have you seen him?".

"Oh, no I haven't seen him actually, not since he rushed out of Teacher Alvida's class yesterday, which was kinda surprising to be honest".

Belo sighed in defeat to what I said, "well thanks for that Koala Bear, I guess I'll see you around then", that was all she said after walking away to who knows where.

But she does have a point tho, I haven't seen him today and yesterday, we were supposed to discuss about the fundraiser campaign yesterday's meeting, but Sir Dragon had to reschedule it for another time. I really do wanna ask him about it, but I just don't wanna impose on him today. Then I saw the teacher's lounge door open and someone walked out which was Sabo, I rushed towards him but quickly stopped when I saw another person stepping out as well, it was someone with black raven hair that reached at his collar a bit, and wore a white t-shirt.

I hid at a corner of a wall, and peered behind it. I know it's wrong and all, but I had to listen to the conversation. I heard Sabo's voice, "Well where do you wanna meet? Maybe at the fountain?".

Then the raven boy replied, "... I don't know, like, why not the library then?".

"Oh, you know that's a great idea, we could go there at... let's say, lunch time?".

"Yeah, sounds like a solid plan".

"Okay then, I'll see you at lunch time then, Ace". That was the last time they spoke after they parted ways, I finally had a clear look of this 'Ace' person now, he had stone grey eyes, and freckles that right below his eyes resting.

Once this 'Ace' person was now gone, I speed walk myself to Sabo, he must've noticed because he turned his head towards my direction, "Oh! Hey Koala", he greeted me with the familiar smile that I know, "what's up?".

"Hey Sabo", I greeted him back and returned the smile, and now for the million dollar question, "where were you yesterday? You didn't show up for the meeting".

"Yeah I know, really sorry about that...", he apologized then continued, "... I got a bad headache yesterday and I couldn't make it to the meeting, so sorry again!".

'Wow, I guess workaholics like him does get a break from time to time', I thought to myself for a second, then said to him to change the topic, "Well then, I'm also here to tell you that Belo Betty was just looking for you a few minutes ago, saying that she had something to ask you".

"Oh sure, I'll stop by the meeting room later, I better get myself to class", Sabo respond with his smile that was really an iconic move of him, while as he walked towards a different direction.

I looked over to him with a confused look and said, "uhm Sabo... the classroom's over there", while pointing at the opposite direction of where he's going.

He shot his head to the direction I pointed, and quickly turned his body where the classroom is at, "oh! Hahaha silly me, I must be really tired that I forgot the classroom was there", he sheepishly smiled as he rubbed the back of his head, "well come on now, Koala! First period isn't gonna finish itself!".

He quickly dashed to the real direction to the classroom, leaving me behind, 'honestly, what am I gonna do with you Sabo?' I thought to myself as I ran to catch up with him. Today's been very strange lately; my roommate makes breakfast, Sabo and this 'Ace' person coming out of the teacher's lounge, and now him spacing out, seriously what a particular day today.
