Brother

After waking up again it was around time to eat lunch. She remembers that she is in the novel right now. When she looks at her phone she realizes that it was also transmigrated along with her body into this world. Feeling hungry she washed up and went to the dining room.

When Valdis entered the dining room she saw a young guy with a cold expression sitting on a chair. He has a pair of cold-looking eyes, a straight and slightly pointed nose, and red color lips. When he saw her entering his expression visibly softened. Before her father died he was aware it was not easy to stop people from eyeing the property so he already made a will, according to which most of his property will transfer to Valdis and the remaining will be given to his adopted son Vincent. But Valdis is 17 years old and still a minor so she will need a guardian. Her father made arrangements so that Vincent can become her guardian and people will not be able to snatch their money.

Vincent is 19 years old but he looks more mature for his age. He was found near an abandoned building when he was just a newborn baby by Valdis's mother and father. At that time both of them were just a couple without any child so they adopted him. After Valdis was born her mother died shortly after because of illness. So her father spoiled her a lot. Now looking at her brother's mature expression and soft feelings towards herself Valdis thought that the original owner was really lucky though she was not able to live together with her mother, father, and brother for a long time she was loved. As an orphan, she cherished this warmth.

Vincent asked with concern in his voice though he tried to sound calm: "You didn't come for breakfast in the morning are you alright? Are you feeling sad or unwell?"

Valdis replied with a faint smile on her face: "Brother I am alright don't worry I just slept a bit more."

Vincent said with a smile on his face: "Alright come and take a sit and have your lunch."

Valdis walked to a chair and sat down. Then an aunt came to serve her and fill her plate. She let the aunt do it without feeling awkward or embarrassed. After her plate was served she started eating. This pair of brother and sister are close and they don't follow the rule of not speaking while eating so they just chatted about normal things.

Suddenly Vincent asked her about her school. Valdis wasn't surprised that her brother asked her about this she just told her brother that she wants to have fun, get relaxed, and learn a few things with her brother so she will start her studies after one month. Even though she was aware that the apocalypse is coming and she need to prepare for it and that studies will not help her during the end of the world because the education system, job interview, and societal system will collapse she still wanted to continue her studies. In another world, she learned hacking and even became a millionaire and youngest entrepreneur with her skills, hard work, photographic memory, and maybe a high IQ which she was never able to confirm, but she wasn't able to complete her studies or enjoy college life. This was not the only reason why she wanted to continue her studies she also wanted to learn how to manage manpower for which she will take her brother's help and practice in her own company.

Vincent agreed with what she said after all he wanted her to be happy. He thought that she was upset because of their father's death so it will be a good chance for her to relax and create happy memories. She didn't know what her brother was thinking she just thought he was so cute agreeing with all the requests she made. After they were done with their lunch her brother went to the company and she went back to her room.

After entering her room she closed the door and started organizing her thoughts. She has two years before the apocalypse will begin. She has three super powers and will have one more in the future. It is her own body which came to this world means she can just continue exercising like her old world and won't need to start with zero. Though her body is strong she can't beat professionals so it will need to be added to her daily life. Next, she needs to think about food it will not be a problem for her since she is so rich she has many food companies under her name. In apocalypse weapons are very important she just didn't plan on keeping a few for herself but instead, on stocking up so when she creates her troop in the future it will be convenient. Necessities like clothes skincare, toiletries, etc., and water are also necessary. The most important thing is to find a safe place and trustworthy people who are willing to work for her and won't betray her in the apocalypse.

After thinking about all this she realized there are many things she won't be able to do on her own, so she will need to tell her brother about it soon and make preparations. While she thought about taking help from her with preparations she remembered that her brother has a young assistant who is loyal to him. Though she doesn't know how they met or why was he loyal to her brother, she is sure that he will be trustworthy and useful. In the copy of the novel that her system sent to her phone, she saw this assistant. Her brother's death was described in the book in a few lines but there was mention of an assistant who also died protecting her brother and didn't abandon him though he was able to escape if he (assistant) left her (Valdis) brother. Thinking about it she is not even aware of the assistant's name but she is sure that he is already working as her brother's assistant so she will meet him in a few days and get him to work for her.

On the other side while bringing coffee for Vincent assistant felt a chill down his spine and involuntarily shivered. Seeing this Vincent asked if he caught a cold and wanted to take a leave to rest. The assistant rejected with a smile and assured them that he was alright. If the assistant knew the amount of workload he will get in the future and how he will even give a smile and do it he might have accepted Vincent's idea of taking leave to rest.
