As Adam cautiously approached the figure standing in the dimly lit corridor, his hand trembled slightly as he aimed the beam of his flashlight towards the figure's face. For the briefest of moments, as the light caught Luna's eyes, they seemed to flicker with a strange amber-yellow glow before quickly returning to their usual gray hue.
The sight sent a chill down Adam's spine, a nagging sense of unease settling in the pit of his stomach. But before he could dwell on it further, his attention was drawn to Luna's appearance. Despite the ethereal beauty of her long gray hair and the delicate features of her face, Adam couldn't help but notice the telltale signs of distress etched upon her features.
Her white nightdress clung to her form as if she had been drenched in cold sweat, and Adam could see the faint sheen of perspiration glistening on her skin. Concern etched lines upon his brow as he stepped closer, his voice gentle yet probing as he addressed Luna.
"Are you alright, Luna?" Adam asked, his tone laced with genuine concern. Luna's response was hurried and evasive, her words tinged with embarrassment as she hastily explained her presence in the deserted hallway.
"I-I wasn't feeling quite myself," Luna stammered, her eyes darting around as if she expected something to jump out at any moment. "I thought i'd stay behind, get some alone time, but I must have lost track of time."
Adam couldn't shake the feeling that Luna was hiding something, her explanation ringing hollow in his ears. But he chose to let it slide, knowing that pressing her for more details would only add to her discomfort.
"Okay, Luna," Adam said softly, his words a silent acknowledgment of the unspoken bond between them. "You're not supposed to be here right now. Just be careful, alright? And if you need anything, don't hesitate to ask."
With a grateful nod, Luna hurriedly made her escape, disappearing into the shadows of the corridor before Adam could say another word. Left alone in the eerie silence of the hallway, Adam couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to Luna's story than she had let on. But for now, he pushed aside his suspicions.
Continuing his patrol, Adam couldn't help but replay the encounter in his mind. The strange glow in Luna's eyes, the sheen of sweat on her skin, and her hurried, almost frantic demeanor all pointed to something more sinister than a simple bout of insomnia. He made a mental note to keep an eye on Luna, not wanting to dismiss his gut feeling so easily.
Adam continued his patrol through the moonlit corridors of the school, his footsteps echoing softly against the polished floors. As he made his way towards the auditorium, a sense of anticipation mingled with unease settled in the pit of his stomach. The auditorium loomed before him, a cavernous space filled with rows of empty seats and memories of past performances and movie nights. Adam couldn't help but marvel at the grandeur of the room, illuminated by the soft glow of the moon streaming in through the windows.
However, his sense of awe quickly turned to dread as he stepped into the dimly lit interior of the auditorium. A feeling of foreboding washed over him, the hairs on the back of his neck standing on end as he scanned the shadowy expanse before him.
Then, he heard it. A series of muffled noises emanating from behind the stage curtains, like the sound of something being torn apart. Adam's heart began to race, his instincts screaming at him to turn and flee.
But curiosity got the better of him, and he cautiously approached the source of the sound. With each step, the noises grew louder and more ominous, until finally, he reached the edge of the stage and shone his flashlight into the darkness beyond.
What he saw froze him in his tracks. Two figures, their features twisted and contorted in hunger, tearing into the lifeless body of a fallen guard. The sight was so horrifying that Adam's breath caught in his throat, his mind struggling to comprehend the gruesome scene before him.Without a moment's hesitation, Adam turned and fled, his heart pounding in his chest as he raced towards the safety of the auditorium entrance. His footsteps echoed loudly in the silence of the room, the sound of his own fear driving him forward.
