It was a Saturday night, exactly one week before the full moon and the much-anticipated charity basketball match with potential college scouts in attendance. The gymnasium was alive with energy as students and spectators gathered to watch a friendly game. 

The atmosphere was electric, but for Adam, it was more than just a game—it was his escape. Adam stepped onto the court, the familiar feel of the basketball in his hands grounding him in the present. Ever since the stark realization that he was doomed to become a werewolf, he had found solace in the one thing that kept his mind at ease: basketball. It was a realm where his worries could be left behind, where the only thing that mattered was the game. 

The match began, and as usual, Adam dominated the court. His enhanced abilities made him an unstoppable force. He moved with a speed and agility that left his opponents scrambling to keep up. Every shot he took seemed to find its mark, and every defensive play he made was executed with precision. 

"Adam's on fire tonight!" One kid shouted from the sidelines, his voice filled with admiration.

"He's unstoppable!" Aiva cheered, her eyes shining with pride and concern.

Adam's focus was unbreakable. He weaved through defenders with ease, executing flawless passes and sinking basket after basket. The crowd's cheers grew louder with each point he scored, and his teammates fed off his energy, playing their best game of the season. Throughout the match, Adam could feel the eyes of the spectators on him. 

His performance was nothing short of spectacular, and he knew this game could determine his future in basketball. But beneath the surface of his determined exterior, a storm of emotions churned. He couldn't escape the looming reality of his transformation. The full moon was only a week away, and with it, the certainty that he would become a werewolf. 

The thought filled him with dread, but on the court, he found a temporary reprieve. Here, he was just Adam, the star player, the trending topic in basketball news. 

"Keep it up, Adam!" the coach yelled, his voice cutting through the noise of the crowd. "You're leading this team to victory!" Adam nodded, a fierce determination in his eyes. 

He knew he had to give everything he had, not just for the coach and his fellow teammates, but for himself. Basketball was his sanctuary, the one thing that made him feel normal in the face of the supernatural chaos that had taken over his life. As the game progressed, Adam's dominance became even more pronounced. He executed a perfect alley-oop, soaring above the rim and dunking the ball with a force that made the backboard shudder. The crowd erupted in cheers, chanting his name. "Adam! Adam! Adam!" 

He thrived on their adoration, using it to fuel his performance. He blocked shots with ease, stole the ball from his opponents, and led fast breaks that left the other team in the dust. Every move was a testament to his skill and dedication. By the end of the game, Adam had scored more points than anyone else, leading his team to a decisive victory. 

The final buzzer sounded, and the crowd surged to their feet, applauding and cheering for their star player. Adam stood in the center of the court, breathing heavily, his heart pounding with a mixture of exhilaration and lingering fear, he could feel his body regenerating all his lost strength. Within minutes it was as if he never played at all. 

As his teammates surrounded him, patting him on the back and shouting their congratulations, Adam forced a smile. He soaked in the moment, trying to hold onto the sense of normalcy it provided. But deep down, he couldn't forget what was coming. The full moon, the transformation, and the uncertain future that awaited him. 

Bryce clapped Adam on the shoulder, grinning from ear to ear. "Man, you were incredible out there! Those scouts are gonna be all over you." 

Aiva approached, her concern evident even as she smiled. "You played amazingly, Adam. But... are you okay?" Adam nodded, swallowing hard.
