The Only Choice

As soon as I get home I know I need to call Natalia, but I was so scared of every possibility... What will this do to us? Natalia is my best friend when my dad died she came over every day to comfort me. She started coming to every soccer game to fill the spot my dad left, would this destroy our friendship? Or worse? Would this put her in danger... I shake off my nerves and press call. "Hey Sav! What's up?" she asks "I have some big news, and need you to come over ASAP," I tell her and wipe my sweaty palm on my hip. 

"Be there in ten, do we need ice cream or cupcakes?" she asks and I laugh a little "neither get over here," I respond and I hear her laugh on the other end "okay on my way," she tells me before the phone call ends. Okay, step one complete I think, and then text Dash,

Savannah: Natalia is on her way... What do I say?

Dash: Just show her the hideout, I think that'll cover it

Savannah: I guess that's easier than trying to explain the whole thing

I pace in front of the front door until I hear the familiar rapid knock of Natalia. I swing the door open and see her with Ice cream and cupcakes against what I'd told her. "Nat," I say and she shrugs "What? Food makes everything better!" she defends and I nod in agreement. "I need to admit something to you," I blurt out unsure of any other way to divulge the information, and I see her set down the ice cream and cupcakes. "Okay..." she says I grab her hand and pull her toward the hidden entrance to the hideout. 

"Close your eyes," I tell her and she gives me a suspicious look but relinguishes. I let out a sigh and lay my hand flat on the hidden sensor. Shifting starts and I lead Natalia into the tube, "now don't panic," I tell her calmly before we're sucked down. Nat yelps in surprise and her eyes jolt open as our feet hit the ground. She immediately begins to look around the room, and her jaw drops. I gulp feeling my throat go dry at the fear eating me alive "YOU'RE DOUBLE!!" she shouts in utter surprise.

"Yes..." I say nervous on her response and she closes her eyes for a second and takes in another deep breath "what!" she shouts again and I sigh. "I Savannah Danley, your best friend since fifth grade is and has always been Double daughter of Multiplyer and Hydra. I know I should have told you sooner, but this is going to put you in a lot of danger if anyone even suspects you know anything," I tell her and she nods frantically "I just wish you'd told me to grab pizza," she said and I roll my eyes. 

She begins to wander her eyes glossing over numerous artifacts and souvenir from both mine and my parents time in the field talking a mile a minute about how amazing everything was. Then she freezes something clicking into place and she turns suddenly grabbing me "You went on a date with The Dash!!!!" she exclaims her eyes lit up like a kids on Christmas. "I was getting to that..." I say laughing lightly, she pulls me towards the small couch down here for us to sit. "Spill!" she demands and I blush madly "okay, so I was doing surveillance of the city and he just saw me and decided to introduce himself. We took down a carjacker as you know and it went great. We met up after that and he asked me out and you know about the date, and then I actually found out who he is for real..." I explained and her jaw hit the floor.

"Who is it? Are you allowed to tell me? Am I going to meet The Dash?" She asks in a series of questions and I laugh "he's actually just been waiting for his queue," I tell her and send a thumbs up to Dash, then two seconds later our hair is up in the wind. "Nat, Dash," I reveal and her jaw falls again, and I swear she's going to fall off the couch. "Dashiell Parr! You and you went on a date? You didn't kill each other? Am I asleep? What is going on here?" She begins and I smile at her "Trust me I was just as surprised," I tell her my eyes flicking to Dash.
