"Ok guys. This is called Mafi-halla."
For about seven minutes, one of Odin's ravens, Munin, was teaching some of her friends from Valhalla how to play an altered version of Mafia that was designed just for its inhabitants. Nine of the realm's most accomplished fighters weren't fighting for the money. They were just fighting for the bragging rights.
She handed out the cards that determined everyone's roles.
"Alright. Let's get going. Everyone, heads down."
"Whoever is the Mafia, heads up and look at each other. Now plan out who you want to kill first."
Three of the nine players pointed to their initial target and nodded with Munin. They couldn't make a sound to spoil their roles.
"You guys put your heads down. Still can't look."
"Whoever's the cop, who will you declare to be sus?"
One of the group chuckled.
The remaining players with roles decided what they would do. The vigilante decided not to shoot their shot.
"Ok, heads up everyone."
"Overnight, apparently by chance, Caspian fell for a zero to death."
The showman thief raised his arms in a disrespectful matter.
"You cannot be kidding me right now. I'm the first person to die."
"Well, you can zero to death people pretty well, but not as consistently as me."
The werewolf Mordex was among the remaining eight players, with one now out of the game. Most of the group laughed from his comment.
"Don't do me like that, you idiot," said Caspian as he went to the sideline.
"Who has something to say?"
"At one point I thought you and Asuri were engaged."
Everyone laughed except a puzzled Asuri.
That comment came from Ada, a master hacker.
"I was not."
"I said I thought, weirdo. People have opinions."
"Makes sense."
"Just a reminder, she can take like ten hits from you and then she's gone. Probably five from myself."
The living darkheart Petra made that statement that got two of the group laughing. She exaggerated about Ada's low defense, while she was the strongest of the group.
"Ok then. You're left handed because of that messed up arm while the rest of us aren't."
"Yeah, but that really doesn't matter."
"Speaking of hits, I can take thirty something of those and I get KO'd myself."
Diesel Heart Barraza was true to his word. He had the highest defense of everyone playing.
The werewolf didn't have a comment on that, but another player did.
"I thought we both have guns to use?"
The commission reliant reaper Nix did have the same weapons as both Mordex and Barraza. She used a scythe and guns.
"Three of us do."
She, Ada, and Barraza raised their hands. Petra did too.
"Uhhhh, you don't even know how to even take a shot with a gun?"
"I do know how to beat the almighty Thor right there."
The God of Thunder had publicly sparred with Petra many times.
