The sound of a ball slamming on the floor signaled me to speak. "And that's another point for Red." I shouted out to the boys as I flipped the numbered vinyl. "They're almost at game point." I turned my head following the voice that spoke.

A prideful smile pulled at my lips. "We might make it to nationals again this year, Coach." Hope filled my voice. I was proud of how far these boys have come in just a few weeks. "How many times do I have to tell you, Daichi, stop calling me Coach." He shook his head. "You may just be a assistant-coach, but you dont have to call me that, you're not one of my players. We're equals now." I looked over at the older man.

He had aged very little over the years. His skin was starting to wrinkle at his eyes, and he had grown out his natural brown hair.

I turned my head nervously chuckling I scratched the side of my head with a finger. He sighed again crossing his arms. I heard the whistle calling a point. looking over I saw that yellow had scored this time. "Looks like they're still fighting." Ukai changed the score with one hand crossing it with the other again when he was done. "Heh yep, we've got some fighters. Reminds me of a certain team a few years back." He side-eyed me to see my reaction, as the whistle blew again. "White team scores." At this rate they could win the set. "Do you think they can win."

His eyes followed the ball as he spoke watching both teams' every move. "I believe anyone can win. They just have to want it bad enough. And those guys, they do." White scores again. "Wow they caught up quick, they're tied 23-23." I looked over at Ukai, worry filled his face and understandably so. Our boys were tired, both sides would barely make it through over-time.

The rallies got longer and more intense with each set up. The spikers hitting the ball as hard as they could to ground it, the receivers diving and getting right back up, setters running all over to get the ball. They were erratic.

I wish I could be out there. Damn do I miss volleyball. I shook the thought from my head when the ball finally landed on the ground. "Red team scores." Game point. How much longer can they go.

A few more rallies had gone through a back and forth, each side tying over and over again till the score was 29-28 with red in the lead. "Red is going to win. White isn't going to last much longer look at them. Panting for breath." I smirked at his statement. "I think white can do it. Like you said the ones who want the win the most will fight the hardest. Look at their eyes. They look like Hinata's during a game. They'll win." I spoke matter of factly to the older man.

He chuckled at my words and turned his head to look at me. I stared right back not backing down from his challenge. "Those are some cojones you've got there kid. Challenging me. I may have said that-but that doesn't mean they always win."
