I was once again walking out of the school, looking everywhere before moving forward, confirming he was gone. I pulled out my phone, looking at the time. 7:30pm I should be able to make it to the train. The station wasn't that far from the school, so the darkness didn't bother me much. Was it eerie and creepy? Yes. But would I walk through it to get home? Also, yes.
In the span of minutes, I had made it on the correct train for my short trip home. Back to my warm bed and amazing coffee maker. Where my little furball awaited and my best friend who may have been tired but would totally throw away sleep to hear how my day went and I for her.
So, to say the least, I wasn't surprised that when I walked through the door and Chiyo attacked me with a fresh mug of coffee in her hands. "Ah! Chiyo be careful!" I smiled at her as she pulled away and took the mug. We exchanged greetings as she guided me, after I had taken my shoes off, to my bedroom and we both sat on my bed. I sipped at the coffee, burning my tongue on it slightly, sighing as Blue-a calico who was obsessed with a stupid bow collar we got on a whim for her-jumped on my bed snuggling into my pillow. "So?" She drew out the 'o', giving me a curious face. I hadn't told her about Daichi-Kun yet. It was something that needed to say in person, not over call or text. But now I began to wish I had.
"Well, it started off really good. Had a few students come in here and there." I took a sip of my warm coffee. "And a few kids from the student council and sports clubs came to introduce themselves. A few teachers as well. They were all so sweet." I sighed and looked down at the warm mug in my hands. "What happened?" She always knows. "I-" I didn't know what to say. I sighed again, this time deciding to suck it up and spit it out. "Daichi-Kun-he uhm. He also works at the school now." I didn't look up. "WHAT?!" I finally looked up at her. Her eyes were wide with shock at my revealed news.
"Yeah. He works there as one of the volleyball coaches, I guess. He's co-coaching with Coach Ukai." She began laughing hysterically, grabbing her stomach, laying on the bed on her side. "What are you laughing at!" I was quite annoyed at her sudden burst of laughter but let it slide, placing the now empty mug on my nightstand. I let her have her minute getting up to change into my pajamas.
"Wow. What luck you have. Getting your dream job and reuniting with your high school crush. What Wattpad story did you just crawl into?" She was still giggling not at all trying to compose herself. I rolled my eyes, stripping my shirt and pants, pulling on a pair of ratty booty-shorts and a t-shirt a few sizes too big. And threw my h/c hair into a messy bun on top of my head. (If you don't have long hair or just don't like to put your hair up, please ignore that part.)
"You're not helping Chiyo." I was slightly annoyed with her. "I have no idea what to do." Tears pricked my eyes as I fell face first into my bed. I felt the bed move as the blonde laid next to me, wrapping an arm around me. "Well, crying about it is going to get you nowhere sweets." She took a breath, thinking of what to say next. "You still have feelings for him, don't you?" A small sob was covered by the mattress as I nodded my head. "Don't you see Y/n? This is your second chance! Go for it!" I quickly brought my head up to look at her.
