Bored, I took a sip from the coffee in front of me. I was waiting for my shift to begin at the mall's child paradise. I was the only customer around as it was still early in the morning. The young man working here must be around my age. He smiled at me as he caught my thoughtful gaze. I smiled back.

Suddenly the door swung open. I almost expected my two colleagues to come in as agreed on, but instead two other young men entered, greeting the barista. They were obviously friends. Only a minute later my friends finally came in and sat down next to me. "Sorry for being late", Katy began but got interrupted by a yawn. "We're still in time for drinking a coffee before our shift", Sarah shrugged. "Two coffees then?", we heard the waiter's voice next to our table. Katy and Sarah flinched. "A coffee and a peppermint tea", I answered for them. He nodded and went to prepare the drinks.

"So, what will we do today after our shift? Any plans?", Katy asked and bent forward. We usually spent some more time together after work. I looked outside and watched the falling snow. "We could go ice skating", I suggested, making her grimace in an instant. "No thanks. I have enough bruises from the little girl thinking she would have to show me everything on our ship", she sighed, referring to the main attraction of our workplace. "You'd be quite a bad pirate", Sarah chuckled, "You always bump your head or run into things." "Hey, to be fair - The architecture is meant for kids. I never thought of my legs longer than when I tried to get them through that hatch while not bumping my head", Katy protested. "At least the kids found it pretty funny", I chuckled, making space for the waiter putting down their drinks.

"Excuse me for eavesdropping", he suddenly said and looked at me, "But are you three the new employees for the childcare here?" I nodded and added: "Part-timers for some extra money." "Well, just like me", he chuckled and then lowered his voice. "Between us - Can I also bring some older kids? My friends over there drive me crazy sometimes." I grinned at him, Katy furrowed her brows confused and Sarah looked over to his friends. They were playing with the sugar cubes, building... whatever that was. "I would take them", my friend then mumbled. "Sarah, no", Katy sighed. The other one shrugged and explained: "It's common for someone working there to welcome friends after the childcare officially closes. If that someone has the afternoon shift. Like us tomorrow. We close at 6pm. Be on time and bring your friends." Sarah grinned innocently while Katy tried to hide herself underneath the table. I shook my head grinning.

I couldn't believe my eyes as I saw three familiar young men approaching the childcare the next day, right on closing time. "I hope it's okay", the waiter from yesterday said with an apologetic smile, "But after they heard about it, I couldn't keep them from coming." "And Seonghwa did try his best", the second one chimed in. I looked at the other two - Sarah upbeat as ever, Katy slightly hesitant. The latter one sighed. "We didn't invite you for nothing," Sarah hummed and made way for the guys, "Come on in." However, Katy stepped in their way. "If one of you breaks anything in here, I will personally make sure he'll repair it until tomorrow morning, understood? And we all will tidy up after half an hour, you hear?" "Yes, ma'am", one of them saluted, the rest nodded. "I'll keep an eye on them as well", Seonghwa assured us. "Behave", Katy added warningly and stepped aside for them.

We watched them running towards the pirate ship and exchanged glances. "No matter how old the male human will be, in their hearts they are all stuck at the age of seven", Katy sighed and trotted after them. "I like our new friends", Sarah announced and looked at me. "Let's hope they are as genuinely nice as they seem", I mumbled. "Oh, don't worry. They will be. I am sure", Sarah grinned and put an arm around me to lead me towards the ship, "After all, grown-up guys behaving like little kids might be a handful to handle but usually never really bothersome." I couldn't help but agree as I watched the three guys already taking over the ship and starting a full on pirate skit.
