Entry No. 1
I still remember it fondly, the sun looked down onto the world with a warm smile, while crisp air filled my lungs. I was alone, dancing between the shadows of the tall white pines, playing with rocks, and discovering new types of little crawling insects underneath.
That day was like many others, and then I found you. You were standing alone, gazing out into the forest. You're fair skin caught my eye with each freckle perfectly placed as if the creator himself took a pen and dotted every single one. Your long silky hair swayed with the breeze and slightly brushed your face, the color like sweet caramel as it glowed in the sun. You were wearing a white summer dress, with a little yellow flower motif. Your dainty hand tightly grasped the ear of a small brown crochet rabbit.
Then you looked my way. I was in awe at how perfect you were, despite the quiet tears that streamed down your cheeks. I felt myself hesitate for just a moment, but your tearful eyes urged me forward.
I remember asking "Why are you crying," as you wiped the snot from your little button nose and gave me the shy response,
     "I'm lost."
I felt my face grow hot, and my palms began to sweat. With your soft features and quiet voice, I couldn't help but feel the need to save you. My heart pounded in my chest, and I remembered where I had seen you before.
"You're staying in the Thatcher's cabin, aren't you? I've come across it while wandering around before. Here! Follow me, I'll take you home!" I remembered your family would always come to visit the cabin around this time each year. I was always curious if they had any children, maybe then I'd finally have someone who could help me collect little pebbles in the river and have contests of who could climb the highest tree. Though I was curious, I was too afraid of what would happen if he knew I went snooping around.
With a gentle smile, you nodded your head and softly held my hand. We walked silently back to the path, and to that old wooden cabin. Watching from afar, I saw how you received tight loving embraces and overjoyed kisses, and a little part of me wished we could switch places. Even still, I could feel the warmth and care I felt toward you growing with each passing moment.
