"Hayle, Leonie, I have something very important to tell you. Please listen carefully." started Melissa, my mom.

The three of us had lived together for many years now. Although Melissa wasn't actually Leo's mom, she definitely acted like one.

My mom had adopted Leonie a few months after her parents had died in a car accident.

Leo was devastated so my mom decided to become her guardian.

Melissa knew her well since me and Leo had been good friends since we were 2 years old.

That was a really long time, considering we were both 17 now.

So basically, I've known her for almost my entire life.
... not really but yeah.

"Please put your phones down. How many times do I have to tell you? No using phones on the dining table!" continued my mom. "God, teenagers these days! Anyways, I have something important to say."

I already knew what she had to say so I said, " Mom, I and Leo know what you're going to say and we want you to know that we have no problem with it and that we couldn't be happier." Leonie and I looked at each other and smiled.

After that, knowing my mom, she started crying. So typical ugh.
I guess you could say Melissa was very emotional and.. dramatic?

She said, "You know I love you both more than anything else, right?" She came and hugged us both.

"Yeah, we do. Now could you stop squishing me and let go, please?" Said Leo, causing all of us to laugh.

She was getting back with my father. She had divorced him a few years ago because "things were just not working out." I guess they finally decided to patch things up now.

"Hayle, Leo, are you completely okay with this?" she asked.

"Yes, mom!" we both said together.

"Mom, we've known Adam since 2000 and I don't think he's a serial killer so it's okay!" I told her.

She just smiled and hugged us again.

She was really.. affectionate. Yuck.

Adam had lived in Australia whereas we lived in France.

So I guess you know what happens next. It's just so predictable.

We move to Australia.
