[No one's POV]
Y/n, alongside four new survivors he just met: Bill, Francis, Louis and Zoey managed to escape the horde that brief encountered. He shared some of the MRE's he had, much to the groups satisfaction.

Louis pulled out of a little bit of bandage from his first-aid kit, using it to bandage a nasty slice on his arm, the room was quiet while he and the others healed. The safe-room had been some sort of office at one point, there was still a computer and shelves of files, but it had been converted likely soon after the infection hit. The door they had come through was now safely blocked by desks, stopping any infected.

Bill: Okay. Is everyone ready?

Zoey: Yeah.

Louis: Yes.

Francis: Been ready.

Y/n: Let's go.

The old vet then goes to the door and removes the holding bar, keeping the door locked before pushing it open. Zoey followed the four men out into the darkness of what looked to be an area leading into the subway, in front of them the floor had caved in showing a staircase below going down to what must've been the main lobby area of the subway. Bill dropped down to the floor below looking around and yelling in shock as an infected man charged at him from a dark area behind him, he gunned him down as three more infected emerged charging for him.

Bill: Mother humpers..

Y/n: You okay, old man?

Bill: I'm fine. Red line north will take us straight to the hospital.

Bill then took out a pipebomb, ignited it, pressed the alarm button before tossing it down the stairs into the horde of infected which mindlessly gathered round it until it exploded and sent their body parts flying all around in a large cloud of blood mist as glass from the ticket gates shattered and went everywhere.

The other survivors then jumped down and followed Bill. He looked around luckily managing to find a pipe bomb inside one of the ticket gates, he then looked ahead to the stairs leading up to the platform's spotting the sign for the red line north.

Bill: This way people.

He marched up the stairs and quickly gunning down several infected mindlessly stumbling around the platform before ejecting his spent magazine before taking a good long look around at the platform... his heart sunk as he saw nothing but destruction, fires and bodies soaked in their own blood at every angle,

Bill: *solemnly* looks like we really are the last one's alive in this city.

Francis: Come on down onto the tracks let's just get through this as quickly as we can.

Francis switched on his flashlight as he began to by pass a derailed train filled with corpses and further into a dark tunnel beyond the subway platform, the others took another moment more to mourn the dead before jumping down and joining him as well looking all around them as they were almost sure infected were down here with them.

Louis: Once we get up to the roof of the hospital what are we going to do about signalling the pilot?" Louis asked as they continued walking through the dark tunnel,

Y/n: There will most likely be some kind of radio set up on the roof if it is some kind of evac sight, but chances are the hospital itself is gonna be swarming with the undead by this point.

They suddenly froze as angry screams and shouts could be heard echoing off the walls around them as suddenly to their horror right in front of them a large herd came charging out the darkness right for them as they immediately opened fire, the pistols and Uzi filling bodies with small but noticeable bloody holes while the bigger rifle and shotgun boomed loudly blowing chunks and limbs off of infected and mangling anything stupid enough to be caught in their path, the horde dying quickly and messily as the group took the sudden silence as an indicator to reload and move on.
