Chapter X: Temple of Doom

Y/N's POV

I never thought I'd have to return to the place I fled during the purge... Guess it would only make sense that you must face your biggest fears to gain the first clue to the location of the key. 

After I confessed everything about what happened at Kaller, the planet where Master SinB perished and when everything went to hell. 

We decided to head straight to Kaller and report to Grand Master Taeyeon via holotransmitter to inform her of our discovery. 

"I see, well, whatever awaits on Kaller, do not let your guard down for even a second as it may cost your life. May the Force be with you." Grand Master Taeyeon warned before signing off. 

"Let's not waste any time, Y/N, set course to Kaller," Master Bona ordered and I nodded. 

Inputting the coordinates to Kaller, I push the lever sending the shuttle into the hyperspace route to the planet. 

Once we arrived on the planet, we landed on the abandoned Republic outpost that was used during the Clone Wars. 

The platform was still in mint condition despite its age, the whole outpost was evacuated when the Empire had no interest in the planet meaning that there will be no Stormtroopers or Inquisitors present. 

Regardless, we have to be careful of the planet's fauna as some of the predatory species here are extremely dangerous. 

Once we landed on the platform, we put on our winter gear before lowering the platform to step on foot onto the planet. 

"Brrrr... It's so damn cold out here..." JiU complained as she tightly crossed her arms. 

"Toughen up, JiU, we've been through worse, haven't we? Come on, let's go find whatever Sith artifact or temple is here," Master Chaewon replied. 

Walking down the stairs to the hangar, all of the vintage military ships and transports were even left behind to rot but there in somewhat decent condition. 

Looking outside the window, we could tell there was no way we can make it through the harsh weather on foot without turning into human-size ice cubes. 

"Great, how are we going to find the temple or whatever through this blizzard?" Master Bona asked. 

"Well, based on the descent condition of these Republic ships, there's got to be some functioning speeders around here somewhere," Master Chaewon pointed out. 

Exploring the hangar for a safer alternative of transport, all I've found so far were ship parts for the transports and fighters. 

That was until I got into a Republic terminal that contains a complete inventory of the entire hangar. 

Booting up the systems, it miraculously works just fine despite a few bugs, I open up the inventory sheet and found there was a small fleet of CK-6 Swoop Bikes more than capable enough to safely explore the forest. 

Informing my Mothers- I mean Masters about my find, we went to the area where the bikes are being stored. 

We checked to make sure that the bikes are in good enough condition to get us through the blizzard and that they won't randomly break down on us. 

Once everything was cleared, we hopped inside the cockpit, turned on the engines, and sped off into the harsh blizzard. 

"So, where exactly are we heading?" JiU asked. 

"Uhm, to be honest, I'm not exactly sure..." I answered and she sighed. 

"Remember, the Force led you here, listen to the Echo of the Force and hear its words," Master Bona instructed and I did what she said. 

Listening deeply and carefully for anything, I kept my concentration on the Force as Bona instructed while dodging the tree trunks. 

"Follow me! I can't give coordinates but I know where to go!" I ordered and I took the lead. 

Leading them further and further into the forest to who knows where the Force takes us, I followed the echo that calls so loudly. 

"We're here," I said as we reached an ancient structure. 

Getting out of the bikes, we approached the mysterious structure, using the Force we cleared the dense snow and discovered what appears to be a temple. 

Entering inside, there was cobwebs, dust, and even remains of either Jedi or Sith, and this place gives off a dark aura that something evil is nearby. 

However, that means that the first clue is close so we have to explore this temple to find out where the key could be hidden. 

"Will split up in pairs, Chaewon and I will search the East corridor while you and JiU will explore the South corridor." Master Bona explained and we nodded. 

Pairing up with JiU, we go into the South corridor while the two Masters go into the opposite corridor. 

As we explore the temple, we come across ancient statues of past Sith Lords during the High Republic era. Creepy if you ask me. 

Suddenly, the statue's eyes glowed red, they come to life as they step out of their pedestals before activating their orange-colored lightsabers. 

"You've gotta be kidding me... Go, I'll hold them off!" She ordered as she ignites her lightsaber. 

"What about you?!" I asked and she groaned. 

"I'll catch up with you, I promise, now go!" She replied and I fled the area. 

Exiting the corridor I come across a dead end as there was nothing but a wall, but something about it draws me toward it. 

Slowly and carefully, I place the palm of my hand on the bricks, and I didn't feel anything out of the ordinary. 

Just as I opened my eyes, I turned around and see that I'm somehow in a completely different area. 

Looking around, my surroundings were covered by thick fog to the point where I can't see anything. 

"So you finally come..." I heard a familiar female voice say as I saw a silhouette of a figure approaching from the fog. 

As the figure walks through the fog and slowly approaches me nearing striking distance, I instantly knew who she was...
