Rowan sat up beside Five, as they both explained the apocalypse to Luther.
"When's it supposed to happen? This... Apocalypse."
"I can't give you the exact hour, but... From what I could gather, we have four days left."
"Why didn't you say something sooner?"
"It wouldn't have mattered."
"Of course it would. We would've banded together and helped you try to stop this thing."
"For the record, you already tried."
"What do you mean?"
"...I found all of you. Your bodies."
"We die?"
"Horribly." Rowan put a hand on Five's shoulder in an attempt to comfort him. "You were together, trying to stop whatever it was that ends the world."
"Wait, how do you know that?" Five took out a cloth which held the prosthetic eye with his free hand.
"This was clutched in your dead hand when I found you." He took it out of the cloth and threw it to Luther, who caught it to examine. "Must've ripped it out of their head right before you went down."
"Whose head?"
"That's what we're trying to figure out," Rowan added.
"Well, there's a serial number on the back. Think maybe you could try—"
"No, that's a dead end," Five chuckled dryly. "It's just another hunk of glass." Luther sighed, handing it back to Five, before the door slammed open with Diego barging through, charging towards the two on his bed.

"Pieces of shit!" Luther stood up to hold Diego back if he had to. "Do you have any idea what you two just did?" Luther stopped him from jumping them.
"Nope, let me— Get your ape hands off of me!"
"I can do this as long as it takes you to calm down."
"Fine," Diego panted, as Luther set him down.
"Now, wanna tell us what you're talking about?"
"Our brother and his little accomplice have been pretty busy since they got here," he said, glaring right at Five.
"They were in the middle of that shootout at Griddy's, after the guys in masks attacked the Academy, looking for them!" he accused, pointing at the two.
"None of which is any of your concern."
"It is now. They just killed my friend."
"Who are they?" Luther turned to Five and Rowan, who exchanged glances.
"They work for our former employer. A woman called The Handler. She sent them to stop us. Then, as soon as Diego's friend got in their way, well, fair game."
"And now they're my fair game. And I'm gonna see to it they pay."
"That would be a mistake, Diego. They've killed people far more dangerous than you."
"Yeah, we'll see about that," and with that, the door slammed shut.

"Former employer? What's this really about, guys? And don't give me any of this 'this is none of your business' crap, alright?"
"Well, it's a long story," Luther sat back down and Rowan sat up cross-legged next to Five. "They turned us into the perfect instruments for rehabilitation of the time continuum. Or 'corrections' as they called them. We weren't the only ones. There are others like us. Beings out of time, fractured, extracted from the lives that they knew. I don't know how they got there. But I do know that none of them were as good as us. They didn't realise it, but we were biding our time, trying to figure out the right equation so we could get back. If we could just get back, we could stop the apocalypse. Save the world. So we broke the contract."
"So... You were hitmen?"
"Yes."
"Uh... I mean, you had a code, right? You didn't just kill anybody."
"No code. We took out anyone who messed with the timeline."
"What about innocent people?"
"It was the only way we could get back here."
"But that's murder."
"Jesus, Luther, grow up. We're not kids anymore. There's no such thing as good guys or bad guys. There's just people, going about their lives. But when the world ends, all those people die, including our family," he sighed. "Time changes everything."

When Rowan and Five made it back to the academy, brainstorming on what they could do next, now that their only source of finding out who the person who ended the world was gone, Five sat at his desk while Rowan leaned his head on the side of the table.
"You alright?" Five asked suddenly.
"Why wouldn't I be?" he looked over at him in confusion because of how random his question was.
"You haven't spoken much today."
"I've had nothing to say," he shrugged.
"That's new."
"You love it," he rolled his eyes playfully. "I just don't want to butt in on all your family stuff." Before Five could respond, he was interrupted by a sound of heavy footsteps down the hall, and Five went to investigate, letting Rowan know that they'd finish this conversation later. When he left his room, he saw a trail of blood coming from the bathroom and into Klaus's room. Five cautiously walked over to his room where Klaus seemed clearly shaken up.
