Back here again... I look out at the town with the other three. With my dagger in hand I think about ways I can negate as many innocent casualties as possible. Starting with you three, you can't be there... many ideas flood my mind. That's when I'd be making a gamble. "We should wait until morning." I suggest. Everyone was hesitant at first but then with some convincing I managed to get them to listen. The plan was one person is a look out for a few hours while everyone else was asleep, when it was my turn I'd slip away and go into the cathedral. And that is what I did. I swapped places with Phylos a few hours into the night and when I was confident he was sleeping, I started to go to the river. Are you sure you can do this? No backing out now you know. What do you think a little priest can do. Not a priest, why would I think that? I'm a fucking exorcist and I'm going to do my fucking job. Get over it.
The ringing in my head grows ever so loudly as I get closer and closer, telling me what I'm doing is right. I walk along the streets since last time we wasted minutes trying to get on the rooftops. What was strange, however, was the fact that some guards clearly saw me but didn't decide to do anything. They were minding their own business. When I got to the entrance that's when I decided something wasn't right. Guards at the door stepped aside, like they knew I wanted to go in and allowed me. Am I not considered a threat... should I be offended or flattered?
Debating whether or not to go in caused the ringing to grow even louder. I opened the door to see him. In front of the podium, I could tell he knew I was coming and coming alone. There were only a few cultists with him but they looked unarmed. He motions for me to come forward and I slowly take a step in. "Welcome." He says, his voice echoing in the room. My breathing becomes shaky. "I trust you saw it." He says with some condescending tone. Yes, I saw... "What makes you think I believe it? It must be a lie..." I exclaim... is he has to be making a fool of me. "You will soon see. The life you lived was not the life you were supposed to live, they stole you from us therefore you did not reach your full potential. You will soon realize everything. Everything was true." He holds his hand out beckoning me to come forward.
It's like my body is moving on its own. I can't help but continue towards this demon. "Impure. Impure boy!" shut. I'm not impure. Despite what she thought, I'll prove it to you Abbess! "Is that a sin of wrath, boy?" no, no it's not. I'm done letting you torment my mind. I feel my grip tighten on the dagger. Ira'nox smiles widely. "Yes, get mad. Give in to your desire." it sounds like he's egging me on. "Let that rage out!" he shouts and suddenly I lunge forward. My face felt hot as every memory of that damned orphanage that I can remember floods my mind. Ira'nox didn't seem to attempt to defend himself, when the dagger went in his flesh I became blinded by my wrath, by my hatred and I kept stabbing. He just laughed like this was what he wanted, the cultists didn't interfere either. Mid stab he grabs my arm. "That's enough, my child." He tuts as he lifts me up. "Let go of me!" I demand. His grip tightens making me drop the dagger.
Ira'nox gives the cultists a nod and they bow before going somewhere. "No matter what happened, you were destined to come back to us one way or another." His voice grows quiet. Eventually a cultist comes back with a case... I'm done for, I was tricked, I can't kill him, the people will continue to suffer. "As a welcome home gift I'll end it." he says, I'm not sure if it's because he's a demon or what but that sounded menacing. "End what?" I ask. "Just for you. I'll end my reign of terror, the humans you're so concerned for will suffer no more, for now."... how did he know... "I know what you think, my child." he snickers. "What kind of father would I be if I didn't know my own son?" I couldn't tell if he was joking or not.
That same cultist opens the case, I couldn't see what was in it though. "Time for a nap, my boy." Ira'nox lowered me till my feet touched the ground but he kept a grip on my wrist. I could feel something warm, I didn't see what it was, I was distracted by thoughts of how I could possibly get out of this. "What are you-" He lets go and my legs give out. I didn't register the fact he got me in the stomach until I saw a pool of blood surrounding myself. I knew I couldn't, at least the others will be safe... my vision begins to go blurry, then fades into blackness. So this is the sweet release of death. What comes after I won't worry, for I am calm.
