You swing open the door, stepping into the private room Kaveh said he'd rented at Lambard's Tavern. You didn't know when Lambard's had private rooms, but you learned not to question when you have Kaveh, Al-Haitham, Tighnari and Cyno in the mix.

Hell, you'd be willing to create a private room out of scratch overnight if they wanted it.

The door swung open as you entered the room, Kaveh bowing and holding the door open for you. You nodded in appreciation and you handed your cloak to Kaveh, which he miraculously flung and hung it perfectly at the coat rack across the room.

"Welcome! We've been waiting." Tighnari said, looking up from the table. The other two lifted their heads at that, seemingly preoccupied at the messy table.

"Hello!" Cyno greeted you as Al Haitham nodded and stretched his lips.

"What is everyone up to?" You asked as you pulled out a chair and sat next to Kaveh and Al-Haitham.

"Nothing much." Al-Haitham said.

"It's not nothing much." Cyno quipped back almost immediately. "Look at these."

You looked at the table as he shoved random cards in front of you. "These are?"

"This is the new deck that I built for the TCG game. I spent ages collected the cards."

"Huh?" Confused, you looked at the others and found that they each had a similar deck of cards in their hands. Kaveh was shuffling them while licking his lip, seemingly unconscious of it; Tighnari's ears twitched a little as he slotted a few cards from the table as an addition to those in hand. Al Haitham was looking at you, and you was sure that he was slightly judging as he fanned out the cards in his hand a little.

"Look, I was busy with commissions. Not all of us are sponsored by the Akademiya." At the end of the sentence, all four pairs of eyes were looking at you.

"Ehem." You cleared you throat. "Anyways, a card game?""

"Yes."

"Hmm. Can someone explain?" You asked as you pulled out one of Cyno's cards in his deck. It was the card of a hilichurl.

"Pesky creatures." You commented before sliding it back. Kaveh and Al-Haitham chuckled softly on either side of you.

"Well?"

Kaveh and Cyno got to explaining, leaning forwards as they showed their cards to you. They went from how to build a deck, to how to pull cards, to how to play, to the rules to the winning and losing of the game. You leaned forwards too as you took a very hard look at the cards, even tried to arrange them according to what they explained. During that period of time, Al-Haitham placed his hand across the back of your chair, tapping it lightly as he pulled out a book to entertain himself. Tighnari kept on shuffling the cards, his ears twitching in what you believe to be, slight agitation as he made deck after deck after deck, pulling out seemingly endless cards from his pouch.

After a while, a drink was placed by your side, and without paying too much attention, you lifted the cup to your lips and drank. Spluttering a little bit, you realised that it was milk. "Milk? Really?"

Tighnari shrugged. "It's a new recipe. Apparently, there's this type of fungus that tastes really good with milk."

Al-Haitham frowned at it. "Are you sure it's edible?"
