I was wandering the forest when an arrow whizzed past my masked face and hit the tree next to me.
I look around and there I see seven players surrounding me.
"You're surrounded, seven to one. There's no escape from your death. Get her boys!" They leapt at me all at once. I smirked under my mask, brought out my double-bladed ax, and cut down my enemies. When the last player puffed into smoke, there were fireworks going off saying that time was up. I survived my first PVP tournament. I got teleported to the winning circle and I looked up at the crowd. Everyone was cheering for the winners that survived. I jumped in excitement but it didn't last long because the noise died down and whispers started.
What's going on? What's happening?
When I looked to my left, I jumped in surprise. Right next to me was one of the best PVP players ever.
"Dream? Wow, it's an honor to meet you in person." I was about to get on one knee when he asked me a question I did not expect from him.
"Where did you get that mask?" He sounded scared which shocked me. I thought Dream never got scared. I look away.
"I've always had it since I was a youngin. I promised myself to never take it off. My name is…" I was interrupted by someone screaming in the crowd.
We both look up to see a dragon coming towards us. Dream readied his weapons to fight.
"Ugh, the cave is 65 million blocks away.
How'd you even find me, ma? I told you I'd be back in a month or two." Everyone in the crowd fell silent. Even Dream was surprised. Mom changed into her human form to show she's not a threat.
"Hon, first off the cave is 65 hundred blocks away and second, I was out hunting for dinner when I saw the fireworks going off nearby. Thirdly, I know you've been wanting to go to a tournament since you were little, so you trained yourself to the bone. So, I pretty much knew where you were going. Lastly, who's this boy next to you?" Mom glared at Dream. Dream put away his weapons and shocked the crowd by getting on one knee and bowed to my mom. It even surprised me to see a pro player like Dream to bow to a dragon. Usually when a dragon is spotted, the elite players chase the dragon for experience levels, dragon scales, loot, etc.
"My name is Dream. It's nice to meet you Ms dragon."
"Hmmm, you're different from the others. And you have a similar name to my daughter's. What's your connection with her?" My mom arched her brow which means one thing.
"Mom! Really? That's very rude of you! You just got this rare occasion of a lifetime, from a pro no less, and you go ahead and read his mind anyway!?" I wanted to slap her in the face but Dream stopped me.
"No, it's ok. She has the right to be suspicious of me. And I've got nothing to hide right now. Plus I didn't think a dragon like yourself could take in a human child."
"I'm sorry, what? You think I'm a human? You must be mistaken. I'm a dragon like my mom. Right, ma?" Just then we hear shouts outside of the arena.
"Mom… did you…?"
"No I didn't get followed! Some of the people that were here probably reported me. Come on honey. I'll take you… LOOK OUT!!!" Mom pushed me out of the way of an arrow.
"You need to get out of here quickly. I'll take her and rendezvous at your place. Don't worry about her. You saw my memory. Trust me, she'll be safe with me." Mom looks at Dream concerned.
"Ok, I trust you." My mom turns to me. "Go with him, hon. He's a much better choice than me right now. I love you. I hope you understand." I wanted to protest but she was right. If I was on her I would be in danger.
"I understand. I love you too mom."
"That's my girl. You've grown up so fast." She kissed my forehead and flew away before the others arrived.
