THIRD PERSON POV:
The Arango Family was getting ready to say their last goodbyes to their friends and family right outside the airport that will take them the beloved family to their permanent destiny.
"Oh, Meli, Nicki, JD, Pablito, los extrañaré muchísimo." Said Ophelia without trying to cry. "De verdad, no saben cuanto los extrañaré." She then hugged her friends and gave them the address of her new home incase they ever wanted to visit. Ophelia looked at them with such a sad expression as she couldn't believe that the moving was actually happening.
It all felt so real to her at that moment that she felt like a little piece of nothing flying through the wind, she didn't want to leave, but at the same time, she was kind of excited to see what Ireland would bring to her and her family.
✈
After several hours of traveling, the Arango's safely arrived at their destination. Ophelia felt so tired yet she couldn't find it in her to sleep through the flight. She stayed awake through the connection flight, she just couldn't seem to sleep! Maybe it was the nerves, or just the excitement of moving to a new place, she didn't seem to know, all that she knew was that she wanted to get into her bed and pretend her friends were still with her, and that she left no one in her hometown.
While Mr. Arango was contacting the car agency, Mrs. Arango asked the 14 year old girl a question "¿Lia, mijita, tienes hambre?" To which Ophelia replied with, "No, mami, estoy bien, pero ¿podría tomar algo de agua o un líquido?" Mrs. Arango responded "Ok, mi reina."

OPHELIA'S POV:
I finally get to the house, finally! My parents decided to go to the supermarket, which was actually a great idea, considering we had nothing to eat for dinner, breakfast, or the following days. We live in a nice neighbourhood, so I can't really be mad at that. The neighbourhood had a little playground/park with picnic benches. I went into my suitcase and grabbed one of the books I was currently reading, "Jane Eyre" by Charlotte Bronte, and grabbed my ipod and earphones just for company.
Everyone might consider music so silly, and call me crazy but, I consider it my everything. Music is my friend, my sister, my brother, my partner, MY LIFE.
While I was making my way there, I felt as if I was being watched in some sort of way, I guess that's the best I could describe it as. I thought nothing of it, so I just kept making my way to the little park. I sat on one of the benches and started reading, until I was interrupted by a... a... hmmmm.... a boy that looked my age, or at least I think he's close to my age, approached me.
"Hi." Said the boy in his Irish accent. "Umm, hi, do you need something or, umm..." I suddenly started feeling shy and self-conscious, don't ask me why, I don't know!! "I'm assuming you're part of the new family that moved to this neighbourhood, I'm Elijah, nice to meet you." Oh. Elijah, so that's his name. I like it.
"Ah, yes, that's me. I'm Ophelia. Yea... that's my name. Yea? Yea. Nice to meet you too." Ophelia felt embarrassed to have reacted that way, that she had to direct her head to the side. "Sorry, I'm just not very good with new people." Ophelia said, trying to disperse the awkward moment that happened recently.
"Oh, I most definitely gathered that" Elijah left an awkward laugh. "Anyways, if you ever want to talk to someone or just, like, be friends with someone I'm here, I would like to be your friend... can I be your friend?" He said, and extended his hand to mine so he could shake it.
"Sure, Elijah, you can be my friend!" Said the little girl who was as excited as ever for having made a friend in such little time.
"Will you be staying here for longer or will you leave right now?" Asked her new friend.
"I was planning on staying a little longer, you are more than welcome to accompany me here though." Replied Ophelia.
And that's exactly what he did. He stayed with me, talking about music and literature for what seemed to be a lifetime, a lifetime that I would not change for anything.
