STELLA STOOD INSIDE her bedroom after she, JJ, and Pope arrived back at the Château. Pulling her tank top over her head, she sighed. Her eyes locked on her reflection in the mirror before her fingers slowly traced over her neck's bruising. She winced in pain, retracting her fingers.
A knock sounded on the door, causing her to sigh before she unbuttoned her pants, leaving her in her swimsuit. "Come in."
"Hey..." JJ said lowly as he stepped into her room. Stella gazed over her shoulder before grabbing a Hawaiian shirt of her brothers to use as a cover up. He pushed the door closed softly—nothing abut a click was heard. "...can we talk?"
"About what?" Stella asked, finally turning to him whilst she buttoned the shirt.
JJ shoved his hands into his pockets. "I think you know, Stella."
Stella nodded. "Yeah, I do. I'm just surprised you actually want to talk considering you've been avoiding me all day."
JJ's head fell. "Look, I'm sorry, all right?"
"Are you?" Stella asked, releasing her hair from it's bun. "You know, I don't get you, JJ, because one second you're all over me and then the next you won't even look me in the eye. I'm sick of it, J. I'm sick of the hot and cold act. It's fucking frustrating."
"I know, Stella," he urged. "I'm sorry." Stella scoffed as she shook her head. She stepped forward to pass him, but he grabbed her waist, forcing her to stand in front of him. "I'm sorry, Stella. I'm just... working some shit out."
"What do you possibly have to work out, JJ?" JJ's head fell sigh a heavy sigh. "Look, I don't know what you think happened last night, but something happened. And I'm not sure what is was, but I don't want to just ignore it. JJ, all I'm asking for here is a little clarity."
JJ's head quickly shot back up, his eyes pouring into hers. It wasn't that he wanted to forget the night at the Wreck. He wanted nothing more than to finish what he wasn't able to. He had been avoiding her because he was unsure of what she wanted.
"I don't want to just pretend like nothing happened, JJ," Stella said. "Look, I like you. I always have. And, if you don't feel the same then that's fine, but don't keep acting like you do and then just leave me in the dark. It's fucking with my head."
Stella watched JJ's blank expression. No sudden movement sensed except for the slight bobbing of his Adam's apple. Slowly, he leaned in until his forehead was placed against hers. Stella sighed as his fingers gripped her side, digging into her skin. "You have no idea how much I want you, Stella."
Stella's hand reached up and placed her hand on the back of his neck, pulling him closer to her as she breathed him in. "Then do something about it, J."
