THERE ARE ONLY three types of relationships in the animal kingdom. The first is commensalism. One example... fish finding hiding spots in coral reefs. Fish profit, but life for the coral doesn't change. Then, there's mutualism... a relationship where both animals benefit form each other. The tricky thing about animals is you don't always know what kind of relationship you're in. Which brings us to relationship number three. The parasitic.
The Routledge twins sat in the back of Ward Cameron's car, Sarah in the front, as he pulled up to their new home. The siblings couldn't wrap their head around their new living situation on Figure Eight, let alone that it would be with the Cameron's. Despite that, though, they were still beyond grateful.
"This is your room," Sarah said as she pushed open two double doors to Stella's new room.
Her eyes widened as she whispered, "wow." Stella let her bag fall to the ground with a thud before she moved to the bed. She pressed on it before falling onto her back. She moaned as she sunk into it. "Oh, my God. This bed is my dream."
Sarah laughed. "Not too shabby, huh."
"Not at all."
Sarah laughed. "Well, your brother's room is right next door and mine's just upstairs. So, if you ever need anything..."
Stella nodded. "Got it."
Sarah turned around to leave the room, but froze. "Oh, and the walls are fairly thin, so if a certain blonde haired Pogue comes around, just... keep it down."
Stella gapped at the girl. "I— me— no. JJ and I aren't--"
"I'm not oblivious," laughed Sarah. "Don't worry, I won't tell a soul."
Stella gazed at Sarah for a moment before letting out a small laugh. Not before Ward Cameron knocked on the door. "How's everything goin' in here? You gettin' settled in?"
Stella nodded. "This place is insane, Mr. C."
Ward smiled, turning to Sarah. "Sarah, mind if I speak with Stella for a second?"
"Of course." Sarah offered Stella one last smile before walking off. "Please be nice."
Ward laughed as he stepped further into the room. "I've already established some ground rules with Sarah and John B about goin' into each other's rooms, so I do have to ask..."
Stella laughed as her cheeks flushed. "Don't worry, Mr. C. This room will stay boy free."
"I appreciate that," He laughed. "Also... last night, Sarah was in my office, and she was getting a map, she said it was for your brother, and... I'm sorry but I just have to ask. You and your brother aren't chasin' after pots of gold like your old man, are you, Stella?"
