3rd POV

(Y/N) impatiently paced his room as he tidied it up, ready for Griffin and his family to come over for dinner tonight. He looked at the clock and saw it read 6:30. "Damn, another half an hour before Griffin gets here." He exclaimed, unhappy that he had to wait so long to talk to his hopeful friend again.

"(Y/N)! get down here," he heard his mother shout "We need your help cleaning up before our guests arrive."

Begrudgingly, (Y/N) walked down stairs of the house to see what his mother needs help with. "Ah, good, you heard me. Can you please clean and set the table. Then I need you to freshen up, the Steinfeld's will be here soon." Said Sarah, seeing her son walk down the stairs and into the kitchen.

"Sure mum, I'd be happy to help." Said the (H/C) haired boy, wanting to do something to occupy his time before his guests arrived. So he did what he was asked of, cleaning the dining room table, making sure there was enough space for everyone to eat. After this he placed down the placemats on which plates were positioned, next the cutlery was put either side of each plate. After setting the table and making sure his parents didn't need any help with dinner, (Y/N) had enough time to be able to run upstairs and have a shower before getting dressed for dinner.

As (Y/N) finished choosing his outfit for the dinner, he heard his grandfather question him "So, are you excited for our guests to arrive? I was talking to Griffin's father during the race and they seem like a lovely family."

"Yeah, I can't wait for them to get here, hopefully Griffin and I can end up being friends, it'd be nice to have a friend over here and to finally have a friend on the track against me."

Before Steven could respond, they both heard the doorbell ring, signalling the arrival of his guests. Excitedly (Y/N) bounded down the stairs before being greeted by his parents opening the door to reveal the four Steinfeld's. "Welcome, you must be Griffin and Hailee's parents, I'm Sarah, this Is Jackson and that over there is Jacksons father, Steven. Of course, you already know (Y/N)." Sarah said, welcoming their guests.

"It's a pleasure to meet to also, my names Cheri and here's my husband, Peter." Said the mother of the two children (Y/N) invited over.

"You had a great race today (Y/N), brilliant move against Grif here, you keep up stuff like that and you'll be in the big leagues in no time." Griffin's father, Peter told me.

"Thank you Mr Steinfeld. My dream is to one day become a Formula 1 driver. I watch every race with my grandpa."

"Please call me Pete and you can call my wife Cheri, you don't need to call us Mr and Mrs Steinfeld" He responded

"You really want to be an F1 driver?" Grif questioned, "My dream is to be a NASCAR driver, let's hope we both get to live out our dreams."

"And I want to be an actress, or a singer. I really love superhero movies, Spider-Man's my favourite" the younger brunette girl chimed in, joining the conversation between her brother and his friend.

"That's so cool, I love watching movies, have you heard about the Iron Man movie coming out? I can't wait to see it." The (H/C) coloured boy said, wanting Hailee to contribute more to the conversation.

"Oh my god, yes, I'm so excited for it too. Wait, we could watch it together!" Squealed the girl in response to (Y/N)'s question.

"You and your superhero movies Hailee, can't get enough of them" teased the brother.

"I hope you don't mind but I'm cooking lasagne for dinner." Jackson interrupted the three children.

"We love lasagne, thank you Mr (L/N)" the two Steinfeld children replied.

"Please, call me Jackson."

"Why don't you kids go upstairs and you can talk about your movies and play games, while us adults get to know each other better" Steven suggested.

"Okay, grandpa!" said the excited boy turning the Hailee and Griffin "Let's go." He continued before running upstairs to his room.

...

(Y/N)'s POV

I'm now sitting in my room with Hailee and Grif and learnt that I have a lot in common with the both of them. Aside from the fact that Grif and I both love racing and Hailee and I both love movies, I learnt that we're all going to be going to the same school for the year they are here, so not only will I see them on race weekends but I'll see them at school as well. Not only this but I also found out that we all enjoy playing video games and we are currently playing Mario kart with myself currently winning. I'm about to win the race as I can see the finish line but before I can cross it Hailee uses a blue shell on me and manages to pass me to win.

"Yes! I won. Sucked in (Y/N)." Hailee screamed out happy about her victory over the two boys, more specifically over me as I had won most of the races so far.

"Okay, okay, I would've won if it wasn't for that stupid blue shell" I responded in false annoyance, secretly happy the brunette girl was able to beat him. Before I could start up another race we were called down as dinner was ready.

...

During dinner we learnt that the reason why the Steinfeld's had moved to England was because Peter had gotten a job as a personal trainer for a big client over here that was too good for him to pass up. Although he said he couldn't tell us who they were because he promised the client he would say anything. Hailee and I had also managed to convince our parents to let us go see Iron Man together, provided one of them take us so we don't get in any trouble without supervision, but luckily grandpa volunteered to take us as our parents would be too busy.

After agreeing on a time when Hailee and I would go see Iron Man next week it was time for the Steinfeld's to leave.

"Thank you all for a lovely evening, we must do this again, I'm sure the kids would love to see each other as much as possible. It is always good to have friends, especially when you've just moved to a new country." Cheri said, obviously happy that Hailee and Griffin had gotten along so well with me.

"Yes, we must, we should make it a weekly thing, or we could do it after every race. Whatever's easiest for you." Dad said, also happy I had made new friends who I would hopefully see a lot of before they had to move back to America.

As we watched the family of four pack into the car and drive off, I couldn't help but feel a sense of sadness wash over me, weather it was because my friends had left and I wouldn't see them for at least a week, or because I couldn't spend any more time with Hailee until we go to the movies, I didn't know. Throughout the evening I found myself stealing glances and the gorgeous girl and as I did I started to have a weird feeling inside. I don't know what it was for some reason, I hope she feels the same.

Hailee's POV

As I'm leaving (Y/N)'s house I start to feel a little bit sad but I don't know why. I mean sure, he's a nice guy and he's funny and I want to be his friend, like really bad but I'm going to be seeing him in a few days so I don't know why I feel so sad leaving him. I noticed him looking at me throughout tonight and I can't help but have a nice feeling wash over me whenever I catch his (E/C) looking in my direction and I found myself blushing at different points when I was looking at him. I just hope he feels the same about me but I also hope that Grif didn't notice or I'll never hear the end of his teasing.
