“One pure matcha iced with 2 pumps of white mocha and one white mocha frappe with no whip for Athena.” When Ayi heard her name, she immediately got up to go to the counter and claim the drinks she bought.
On the other hand, Jiwoong heard the name when the barista announced it, “Baka ka-pangalan lang.” He whispered to himself, but when he saw the familiar black wavy hair with silver streaks, he knew it was Ayi.
“Hey, Kuya. Saan ka pupunta?” Lai asked her nang tumayo ito sa upuan niya.
“Saglit lang.” Iniwan ni Jiwoong ang kapatid niya sa table nila para puntahan si Ayi.
Ayi was busy getting the drinks, and when she turned on her side she saw Jiwoong approaching her.
Agad siyang umiwas ng tingin at naglakad paalis but Jiwoong called her, “Ayi, sandali lang.”
Napapikit si Ayi nang mariin bago niya harapin si Jiwoong, Ayi flashed a small smile when she looked at him. She noticed that Jiwoong is wearing glasses that suits him.
“Nice glasses.” Sabi ni Ayi para mawala ang awkwardness sakanila.
“Thanks.” Jiwoong smiled while fixing his glasses, “Pabalik ka na ba?”
Tumango si Ayi, “Yep. Kasama mo si Lai?” Dagdag ni Ayi, lumingon naman si Jiwoong sa pwesto ni Lai and her sister waved at Ayi.
“Oo.” Muling ibinalik ni Jiwoong ang tingin kay Ayi, “Ayi, ‘yung tungkol pala sa nangyari nung isang araw—”
“Ayoko munang pag-usapan ‘yan, please. O kung pwede kalimutan na natin ‘yon kasi ayoko nang balikan pa.” Ayi said, cutting him off, “Mauna na ako, Jiwoong. Male-late na ako sa klase ko.”
Tipid na ngumiti si Ayi bago siya muling tumalikod para umalis.
And as Jiwoong was about to step forward to chase Ayi, his name was called by the barista forcing him to step back and watch Ayi walk away from him.
