Jisoo P.o.v:
That day I lay in my bed and listened to my father's screams with wet eyes.
Taehyung's voice only rose sporadically until he eventually didn't shout or say anything anymore.
I lay there.
A thousand thoughts in my head.
And I hoped so much that my father would take it lightly.
When the door slammed shut and the voices fell silent, I still didn't move from my bed. On the contrary. I curled up in my blanket and closed my eyes. Hoping to just forget everything that had happened in the last half hour.
Of course I couldn't forget any of this.
When I finally got out of bed the next day, there was a man standing in my living room. I had never seen him before and was quite frightened.
He apologized, gave me a friendly smile and introduced himself as Kim Jongin.
I smiled back. But he still didn't quite understand what he was doing in my apartment.
That changed when my father opened the door. I could see his big grin from afar and it only deepened when he saw me standing there.
"Ah! You've already met!" He said happily. I raised an eyebrow and said nothing. For now.
"Kai-" He points to the young man who can't be much older than me. "-is your bodyguard for the remaining weeks from now on."
Stop.
Nobody moves
It's so quiet, I could hear the birds chirping from outside.
Their too loud. I got migraines.
"What?"
My father smiles at me. As if he didn't even notice my horror.
"He is ideal for the job! A respectful, young man. Who takes his job very seriously." He patted Kai on the shoulder.
"What about Tae-"
"Don't you dare to take his name in your mouth!"
"What did you do?"
"What I had to do.." he smiled, opened his suit button take a seat on the couch. Then he looked straight in my eyes. "I fired him."
"Why? It wasn't his fault" I argue.
"I don't know how exactly you see it. But I don't like it when one of my people sticks his tongue deep down my daughter's throat."
"That was my doing. He had nothing to do with it. That was my plan to get him out of this place. I told you from the beginning that I don't want a bodyguard!"
He interrupts me: "I don't know how you were going to get him to quit like that. What I HAVE SEEN is that he seems to have more than enjoyed the moment. I do NOT want to imagine what would have happened between my DAUGHTER and my closest trusted coworker if I hadn't come into the room!"
"Dad!"
"No Jisoo! You knew better where the boundaries were from the start. If you don't like the fact that he was dismissed, if you think it's unfair, thank yourself."
There is a silence between us. We just stare at each other.
Until my father breaks the silence:
"Did you know daughter, Taehyung worked for me for a few years. I trusted him. He worked well for me. I have to admit that. He trusted me too. You probably don't know, his family has some problems. He doesn't come from a rich family like you. He never got anything shoved up his ass like you have in your life. He had to work for everything. With the job I gave him, he was able to pull his family out of misery and save himself a good penny."
He pauses and looks me in the eye.
"He was one of my best men, I thought I could trust him, that's why I assigned him to you. But I should have known better. With this job, he deserves even better than before! Hard to believe, right? But he lost all that because he absolutely has to stick his cock in my DAUGHTER!"
He exhales.
Stands up.
Fastened his suit button again.
And walks to the door.
Before he leaves, he turns back to me.
"I don't want to know how he has to earn his money NOW to keep his family afloat."
"Well done Jisoo!"
"You and him..."
And with those words, he closes the door and I collapse.
