Kai's POV:

Jay chased me out of the alleyway as I navigated my way through the city streets in the low sunrise. "Did you really just call me Zapdos back there?" Jay demanded, giving me his classic quizzical look.

"Yeah. Zapdos is an electric and flying type Pokémon, right?" I smiled, recalling the amount of times I'd catch Jay on his Nintendo Switch trying to catch that specific pokémon. "Unless, I've gotten it mixed up with the Galarian version, which is (correct me if I'm wrong) a fighting type."

Jay deadpanned me, keeping as silent as possible.

"Did you catch it yet?" I wondered aloud, hoping that Jay would break the awkward silence between us.

Jay huffed in annoyance. "You're thinking of the Galarian version. As for catching it. . . Nada. It slipped away from me yet again." I glanced at Jay as we walked. He looked somewhat disappointed. "Besides, we're busy doing ninja-stuff nearly 24/7, I can't really sneak off and do as I please anymore!" Jay added with a sigh as I spotted a familiar looking power box.

"Well, how about we have a little gaming spree tonight?"

Jay did a double-take on me. "Wait what?! You serious?"

Maybe he thought I was teasing him about it? I wondered to myself. I gave Jay a small smile at his reaction. "We can catch that bird together, if you want to?" I continued as a sparkle of excitement glimmered in his electric blue eyes.

Jay smiled at the thought. "I've got an even better idea. Why don't we get the whole team together?" He suggested with a smirk of his own. "Who knows what other Pokémon they may have. Maybe we could even trade?"

My eyes went wide with shock, completely forgetting that Lloyd was an absolute Pokémon nut.

He loved gaming almost as much as sparring with any of us. I'd always see a gleam of confidence after each fight. Since the beginning, Lloyd has always been eager to be in on the action. But after becoming the Green Ninja and what happened between him and Harumi, he always taken things a little too seriously lately. I shook my head, trying to forget about the amount of times he's reprimanded the team. He's claimed that we weren't taking our training serious enough or reminding us that we were all that stood between Ninjago and chaos when it decided to strike.

At first I thought it was a paranoia of Her or the SOGs coming back but then I realised it was just a snap in Lloyd's personality.

A fracture that had been created by the no-good, twisted, psychotic Jade Princess.

"Maybe. If he allows it." I muttered with a shrug. "Oh look, there's the power box." I pointed out, desperate to change the subject with a smug look that hid my worry for the little grasshopper. Jay stared at the box, bewildered that I actually knew where it was.

"I guess you were right. It was two alleys over." Jay laughed as we set to work.

After working on the power box what seemed like forever, I think I had finally given up.

I constantly screwed up the wiring and had to get Jay to keep checking it over, making sure I'd done it right. Otherwise, I might have blown up the whole city. I stepped back, wiping a few droplets of water from my brow. "Okay, Jay. Give it another try." I suggested as I glanced over my shoulder where Jay should've been watching me.

He didn't respond.

"Jay?" I called out as I did a three-sixty, glancing in all directions.
