Hi loves, I just can't get enough of Daryl lately, so here's a oneshot of him, why not, right? Enjoy! 😊🤍

"Ed, just put the fire out. We don't want Walkers finding their way into our camp at this time of night" Y/N said sternly.

There had been a few lone walkers around the camp in Atlanta that week, and the group decided that they would take extra measures to make sure they were safe.

"What are you gonna do about it y/n-" He grunted, as he stuffed his dinner into his mouth.

"ugh, you're a literal pig, Ed" y/n remarked, "but since you won't put it out yourself, I have no problem doing it-" she walked forward, ready to extinguish the fire... until the huge man grabbed her arm.

"- you are hurting me" she whimpered, as the man strengthened his grip.

"You listen to me, you take orders from me, you do as I SAY" the fire was now in his eyes, the large man chuckling as he knew the pain he was causing her, the same way he would hurt Carol.
Y/N was enraged, after all, she only asked for a fire to be put out. Yet she decided she was too tired to deal with him, so she huffed, rolled her eyes, and turned her foot towards her tent to sleep for the night.

As y/n was closing the zipper to her tent, she heard a familiar voice.

"Hey"

"Hi, Daryl" she replied.

"what are you doing, getting yourself into trouble like that, with a guy twice your size"

"I can handle myself Daryl," she chuckled "I thought you of all people would know that by now"

He was suddenly reminded of the first time they met...

Daryl was out hunting, and heard growling and grunting, being the curious man he is he decided to take a look, and thats when he saw her. She was all alone and seemed helpless, surrounded by walkers. Perhaps 10, or 15. Daryl sighed, thinking he had to step in and save yet another person from an early death, he shot one walker with his crossbow, and made his way over to help, but to his suprise she managed to take them all down, with just a bow and arrow, and a dagger. She then heard Daryl russle around her, raising her dagger to his throat. "Hey, I was just trying to help" he held his hands up. She didn't speak, but instead walked away, and started gathering her arrows. Daryl walked over to the walker he shot, to retrieve his. They were unaware of eachother and tried to pick up the same arrow. Their hands touched, but pulled apart just as quickly as they found eachother.
"Thats mine" They both said at the same time.
"nah- green fletch see? these are mine" he said in an unusually deep tone which she couldnt quite comprehend. Y/n gave up the arrow eventually.
"thank you, but i didn't need your help, see?" she said, mimicking his tone from before, as she showcases her victory against the dead. "I can handle myself-" She paused for a brief moment to stand, only to be greeted with the mans outreaching hand, which she took.
"Daryl... its Daryl" He said, "and I know you can handle yourself-"
"y/n... my name is y/n" She replied again.
From that day on, they were friends in camp, and in battle.

"yea I guess ya can look after yourself" he said, "but just be careful, our battle is against the dead, not the living, even if Ed is super annoying."

Y/n yawned, making it obvious she was tired, so Daryl decided he had made his point, and it was time for him to leave.

"I'll see you in the morning, D-" y/n replied in a low and tired tone.

"yea, night-" He said, starting to close the zip back up, they gave eachother a warm smile, and both went to sleep.

Y/n, Carol, and Andrea were doing the washing from the night before, as they gazed across the beautiful blue lake before them. Giggling as Carol made a funny remark about missing her vibrator the most during the apocalypse.

But that giggling came to an abrupt end as a deep voice growled,
"Get back to work, you women shouldn't have the time for giggling around"
Ed... Great.
"And what are you supposed to be doing Ed? because it seems like you're just sitting on your fat arse currently" Andrea laughed. Eds hads found themselves wrapped around her neck, evidently he didn't appreciate her commentary.
Y/n remembered what Daryl told her the night before, but the rage inside her overrode that, as her fist shortly met the huge mans face. Followed by a thud.
She knew she could handle herself.
The girls were shrieking as Ed and Y/n wrestled for a moment, but despite the mans weight and strength, y/n's agility and blinding rage meant that she had the upper hand.
Punch after punch after punch was landing in his face.
Carol still shrieking, crying out for Ed.
After a few minutes, he finally stopped squirming, y/n spat as she repeated what he told her the night before "you listen to me, you take my orders... And you do AS I SAY!"
Andrea had a smirk on her face, realising that Ed may have finally met his match.
"And you keep your hands off Carol, or i swear to the Gods-" y/n blabbered on.

The commotion that they caused caught the attention of Shane and Daryl, as they both ran over, weapons at the ready. Only to find y/n and Ed laying on the floor out of breath and bloody.
She got up, slowly, and told them what happened, while the huge man lay silently on the floor, perhaps in shame, perhaps in terror? It was safe to say, something like that would never be happening again.

After the whole event, y/n found herself down by the lake again, the sun was setting and she tended to a few bruises she got from tackling Ed.
"here-" A voice came from behind her, but she didn't flinch, because she knew the comfort of the familiar voice.
"oh you don't have to, Daryl-" she said, but was interrupted when he said.
"yes i do. And i know you can take care of yourself, but let me help you, just this once"
She only hummed in reply, and let him run the cool water over the nicks and bruises that began to show in the orange light from the sunset.
After a while they sat in eachothers presence, again there was no words spoken, just silence.
Until there was a slight chuckle that came from Daryl.
"What?" y/n said, offering a warm smile.
"you. always getting yourself into trouble"
"hmm you're telling me" she sighed, remembering all the times she's been in trouble the past year.
And all of a sudden a bubble of laughter emerged from her, only to turn into a fit of giggles.
Daryl began to hush her, repeating "shh we don't want to attract walkers" but it was no use.

Then came an idea.

A huge splash silenced her laughter, yet it was replaced with a shriek.
"Daryl!" she exclaimed, taken aback by the sudden cool wave that washed over her.
She furrowed her eyebrows, as a grin appeared. She splashed back.
Soon enough the two were knee deep in the lake, having a waterfight.
"okay, truce, truce!- God, STOP!" Daryl chuckled.
"fine, what are the terms of this truce?" y/n laughs, twisting out the water in her top. Stopping only to catch her breath.

He took a few steps closer, the sun now set, and the moonlight glistening over the two, reflecting and dancing in their eyes.
"We help eachother stay out of trouble, and if we get into shit, we help get eachother out"
She looked up into his eyes, as he gave her a smile, as she said,
"yes, Daryl. I'd like that very much"
She placed a gentle kiss on his cheek, before one again heading off to her tent for the night.

"Goodnight, y/n" He said quietly, smiling to himself as he watched her walk back to the camp, his eyes never leaving her figure for a second.
