I hurried back into the Police Station. "Guys, we need to put Laurie into Protective Custody, A man came up to me and was looking for her." I tell everybody. I have a feeling this case is going to take awhile. "Who? Shes at the hospital right now, Do we need to go get her?" Hotch asked. I feel stressed because we are trying to prevent people from getting killed and if he gets to her first, I feel like i will have done it because i didnt do everything in my power to stop it. "I think its a good thing to have security at her door and when she gets to her apartment when she gets home." I told them all. "Morgan, Kate and Rossi go take a look around and go see if that man is still lurking, Spencer and JJ go to the hospital and get what you can from Laurie and i will stay here in case anything changes. Hopefully Reid and JJ get enough that when they get back we can give a profile, Hotch said.
On our way to the hospital it was so silent you could hear a pin drop. So i guess things between JJ and I will be awkward now. As we're pulling into the hospital parking lot, JJ decides to speak up "Can you just tell me, Tell me why you've been acting so weird around me" She pleaded. I guess i have to tell her. Now or Never, I tell myself. "I love you Jennifer, I've had a crush on you for months but i never had the guts to say anything and i never wanted to tell you because you have Will and Henry" I stated bluntly. She's been wanting to know so i told her. "Oh..um..Thanks for telling me Spence. Lets go find Laurie now" Great. Now things are going to be even more awkward between us. As we were walking into the doors of the hospital I see that man that i saw outside of the Police Department. He was standing at the nurses station. "JJ thats the man that confronted me while i was sitting out side of the station!" I told her. "Well what should we do, We cant arrest him because we have no proof that he did anything" JJ said.
She was right, There could be a hundred reasons he's at the hospital. "Let me see what i can do" I told her. I walked over to him and and started talking, "Hey, Im Spencer.. Um we met earlier. Whats your name?" He probably wont tell ne but its worth a shot. "Patrick Chambers, Why do you want to know?" He asked. Atleast he changed into something more casual. "Why are you at the hospital? Im here for my brother" I had to lie, Sometimes its part of the job no matter how much i hate it. "Well im going to visit my mother, She just had surgery" As he turned towards the elevator I saw the handle of his gun sticking out of his waist band. "JJ! OVER HERE!" She ran over and we aimed our guns. "Patrick i need you to take the gun out of your pants and put it on the floor!" She was trying to stay calm. By now there was a crowd around us and the nurses had called Security and they were giving us backup. "HE PAID ME I SWEAR! PLEASE DONT HURT ME" He pleaded "Okay Patrick, Just put the gun down and we will help you" JJ told him. He put the gun down and i ran to him and handcuffed him while JJ kicked the gun away. The police took him back to the Police Department. "Well what do we do now? This is going to make our unsub even more mad that his partner just got caught" Derek was telling us. Hotch said "We need to give the profile now" We gathered all of the sheriffs and gave the profile. "We are looking for a man in his mid 30's to late 40's. He is definitely a sadist seeing as he drugs his victims and makes them suffer before he they . He likes to have power, He may even work in a place where he is in charge. This man takes each gender, Which is going to make it just a little bit more difficult for us to find him. That is all for now but we will update as we know more." We all took turns talking. I was walking out of the bathroom as somebody pulled me into an interrogation room. "What the?" I yelled. "Shut up Spence!" It was JJ. Shes the only one that calls me Spence. "I need to talk to you" She said. "Spence, I love you. But i also love my husband, I cant leave him when we have a son together. I cant just leave him, I dont want what i just said to affect our work lives." She kissed me on my cheek as she walked out. I dropped to my knees. I need to get over her, I shouldve known she would never pick me. I got up and went over to Hotch. "Im going to go out, To a bar or something, I'll be back later" I rushed out the door. I could hear him yelling for me but i ignored it.
I walked into the bar and sat at the counter. "Club Soda please" I told the bartender. As soon as i got it i chugged it down. "Keep 'em coming" I said. I just got rejected, I think i deserve a night to myself. I dont normally drink but JJ was the first girl i really loved. Ive had about five drinks and ive only been here for about an hour. By 12:00am im so drunk that the bartender called Hotch and told him to come and pick me up. Five minutes later i saw a disapointed Hotch walk through the door. He took me back to my hotel room and i climbed into bed.
