Reading has always been something that Lisa has done. She wouldn't mind reading with her friends (even though they weren't readers), but what did annoy her was how her friends would constantly tell her that the reason she hadn't met her soulmate was because she was always engrossed in reading.Jisoo also claimed that maybe she already met her soulmate, but she wouldn't have noticed him for she would be extremely focused in reading the book.
Lisa used to retort to such claims by saying how her soulmate would like reading too. Why would they be soulmates if they didn't have similar hobbies?
But, looking back, she feels that her friends might have been right. Each day goes by with her waiting to meet the one, but to no avail.
To make herself feel better, she visited the local library which she has been visiting since young.
‘What should I read? Romance? ..no, it would just make me feel worse. Action? Hmm, no. I want to make myself feel better. How about a short horror book? That may take my mind off such a trivial problem.'
While thinking about which book she should read, she felt the sunrays on her. Squinting her eyes towards the sun, she sighed and made her way to the library.
After choosing which book to read, she found the perfect spot to read. Taking a look at the window, she was glad to see the sunrays not being in her direction. Drinking a sip of water from her bottle, she proceeded to read.
Feeling warmth towards her, Lisa squinted her eyes and tried to block whatever that was. However, now she had no mood to sleep again. Yes, she realised that she fell asleep while reading and was awoken by the bright sunrays of mid-afternoon.
She took a look at the window and looked down at the book to read. However, soon after she did that, she realised that she was not alone on this table. Someone else was also here!
Taking a quick look towards her right, she realised it was the guy who didn't catch her when she 'fell' down the last time she was here! She glanced towards her right again, staring at the said man. The sun rays surrounded him making it look like he was wearing some sort of halo. If anything, it just made him look even better than he was. A ray of sunshine, he was (literally).
It was the second time they were meeting, at the same place and she had no idea what his name was.
Clearing her throat, she called out to the man. No response. Lisa didn't give her hopes up, thinking that he was just too engrossed in the book he was reading.
With the mention of the word 'reading', Lisa thought to herself if she would come off as weird or creepy if she just introduced herself. She made her mind to ask about the book he was reading, and from there, the conversation would go deeper and then they would be like close friends!
She giggled at this thought and felt that it was the perfect idea. Looking at the man, she saw his brown eyes staring right back at her with a confused expression. Maybe he was distracted by the sound of her giggle.
Smiling, Lisa said, “Hi! I am Lisa, nice to meet you! May I know what book you're reading? It looks quite interesting. ”
The man, who now looked interested as the topic of book was mentioned said, “Oh. I am Jungkook. This book I am Reading is a biography of Marie and Pierre Curie who discovered radioactivity. I know it's not interesting to read, but I am really glad that someone asked me about this.”
Hearing his answer, Lisa felt puzzled. What's a good looking man like him doing here in the library reading biographies while he could be out doing god knows what.
Saying a mumbled 'oh' to the man, she smiled. A man like him who is not only good looking but also smart? Oh Lord, what jackpot did I hit?
Perhaps she was too tired, she fell asleep a short while after. Waking up, she noticed that the sun had set, indicating that it was evening. (It also indicated that she slept her for hours). Glancing towards her right, she felt disappointed to see that Jungkook had disappeared.
Oh, how nice she felt saying his pretty name. A pretty name for a pretty person.
Smiling to herself, she kept the book she was reading in the book shelf and made her way to her home. She feels that maybe, just maybe, she met her soulmate.
