Hopper was comforting El as Mike was explaining him everything that happened.
I went to greet Joyce and Murray. Joyce hugged me tightly and I winced.
« - Oh my god, what happened to you sweetie ? » She asked and I looked at Will.
« - Nothing too bad, I just got a bad scratch by this thing. » I said
« - She literally saved us mom. » Will said and Joyce hugged her son.
I let them have a moment and walked back towards Hopper and El. I sat down next to her and she smiled at me.
« - You're being super brave, our superhero. » I said and she chuckled.
« - Thank you for keeping an eye on her for me, kid. » Hop said and I winked.
« - Well, Steve and I are the designated babysitters now I guess. »
Steve kneeled down beside me and looked at us.
« - Okay, so just to be clear, this .. this big fleshy spider thing that hurt El and Y/n it's some of gigantic ... weapon ? » He asked
« - Yes. » Nancy said
« - but instead of like, screws and metal, the mind flayer made its weapon with melted people. »
« - Exactly Steve. How logic. » I said.
« - yeah, okay. i'm just ... making sure. » He replied.
Joyce came over to us.
« - Are we sure this things is still out there, still alive ? »
« - El beat the shit out of it but yeah, it's still alive. » Max replied
« - But if we close the gate again... » Will started
« - Cut the brain off from the body ... » Max continued
« - And kill it. Theoretically. » Lucas concluded.
Just then, Murray speed-walked from the other side of the food court. He had some papers in hands, waving them around.
« - Yoo-hoo ! » He yelled
He sat the hand drawn map of the underground soviet bunker down in front of Hopper on a table.
They started to debate on where the gate was, and how they could reach it.
Dustin started to tell them about the ventilation system, and how it leaded to the weapon.
« - You can show us the way ? » Hopper asked
« - Don't worry, you can do all the fighting and dangerous hero shit. and we'll just be your ... navigators. » Dustin replied, and Erica nodded.
« - No. Nope. » Hopper said
After a few negotiations, Hopper disarmed a dead soldier. he took the machine gun and tossed Dustin a talkie.
« - You can navigate, just from someplace safe. » Hop said
« - It's not that simple. » Dustin replied.
« - The signal won't reach. » Erica added.

« - Are you coming with us ? » Steve asked me as he was holding car keys Hop had given him.
I looked back at El and at Max. I couldn't let them. Even if Nancy and Jonathan were still with them, I was not leaving the kids there.
« - I'll stick with them. » I said
« - But what if... » Steve started talking and I rushed over him to give him a long hug.
« - I need to stay here in case Billy comes around. » I whispered in his chest.
He hugged me back tightly and backed away. He looked at me and nodded.
« - I know. Just stay safe. » He said
« - If something happens to you i'll bring you back to life to kill you with my own hands. » I said and he laughed.
