Nervous Eyes (Quicksilver)

You sat on the empty recording studio that you learned to call your second home. Ever since Fury figured out that one of your enhancements was you could change peoples emotions through song he had you trying to prove it. Nick had to leave the room because nothing was happened and as usual he was very frustrated with you.

"Why can't you just do it! I've seen it happen before, you can't just lose your ability!." He says busting through the door and startling you.

"I told you I can only induce the emotions I'm feeling, and right now I feel nothing. You're trying to have me get Bruce to fall in love with me but I need someone I love as more than a brother around me." You slammed back down on the sofa you found yourself sitting on. You watched Nick hit a button somewhere on the panel on the door.

"Send all the Avengers down here immediately." Your heart started beating. What if he had you try it on Pietro, then everyone would know you had a crush on him! "So apparently miss (Y/N) can't work her powers unless she's feeling that emotion so that's why I have gathered you all here. Since she's bound to like once of you I need to see if it really does work."

They hooked Bruce back up to the heart monitor. Fury nodded at you to start, you took one look at Pietro and started singing Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol. You could hear the beep of Bruce's heart monitor start speeding up. Luckily Pietro was right behind him so nobody could tell who you were looking at. You stopped and you saw Bruce just kind of slowly slide down onto the floor ripping the sensors off his chest.

"I think I' just gonna... I'm just gonna lay here for a bit." He says rolling over onto the floor. You decided to join your non-biological family back at Stark's place for the rest of the night.

"That was incredible, I could feel it and I wasn't even remotely near you! You're going to have to teach me how to do that!" Tony says sitting down eagerly on the couch next to you. Out of the corner of your eye you kept catching Quicksilver looking at you.

"Maybe eventually Tony," you laugh as you stand up, "I'm going to go get some air."

"I'll join you... If you don't mind." Pietro asks.

"Not at all." You say trying to hide a smile. You two walked out on the porch, feeling your breathing speed up you had to stop yourself from slamming the door shut behind you. You were definitely a lot more nervous than you wanted to be.

"Woah." Pietro says staring at you with a shocked expression on his face.

"What?!" You ask getting even more anxious.

"Your eyes... They're, gold." He says brushing some loose hair out of your face to look at them better, while also causing them to turn dark blue.

"Yeah, they change colors depending on my emotions. Gold is when I'm nervous, brown is calm, red is excited, and they changed to like this electric blue color once... I have no idea why. I was with Nat and we started talking about y-... someone and they just changed that color."

"Well they're a mix of dark blue and gold right now. So nervous and something else that we don't know what. Do you mid if I kind of experiment with his a little. I think I might know what the electric blue is, and it might give me the answer of a question I've been wanting to ask you."

"Yeah sure... just don't do anything reckless." You say with a nervous laugh. He took one of your hands and placed it on his chest. He got a slight smirk on his face as his eyes narrowed, studying yours. Your heart was beating so fast you thought it was just going to fly straight out of your chest. He moved closer to you, a lot closer to you. Your breath was hitched in your throat, you've only dreamed of being this close to Pietro.

"So you want to know that thing I've been wanting to ask you?" You could only aggresively nod your head in reply. "What I wanted to ask you, pretty much since the day I met you... I-is um, God I didn't think this was going to be this hard." He started muttering under his breath in Russian.

"Hey, don't you go speaking languages I don't understand!" You both laughed, "But in all honesty you can tell me anything Pietro."

He looked down with a smirk and then back up bursting into a full smile, causing you to go weak in the knees. "I was wondering if you would ever consider... dating someone as reckless as me. Because I love you, like I am so completely in love with you that I don't even understand how to process these things I'm feeling. You are beautiful, funny, the equivalent of a princess in my eyes and I thought you would never consider me but by looking at your eyes I guess I was wrong." He smirks again.

"What do you mean?" You ask genuinely confused.

"Your eyes are completely blue, like brighter than mine." You looked deeply into his eyes, you could see his was sincere. You had never felt this way about anyone, you also weren't exactly sure of how to process what was going on.

"I know my eyes are telling you exactly what you want but my actions will definitely speak louder than my eyes."

"You lost me." He says raising an eyebrow. You stood up on your tip-toes to lessen his towering advantage of height. He leaned down close enough to you that you could feel his breath. You smiled at him.

"Pietro Maximoff, I would be delighted to date someone as reckless and handsome as you. I would be an idiot not to, but to prove it... just in case y eyes are wrong ." You pushed him down to meet your lips. He tasted like spearmint gum and skittles, two of your favorite things. You could feel him smiling as he kissed you, lifting you up so your toes were barely skimming the ground. You were broken apart by a flashing light, you both looked over to see Tony, Nat, Bruce, and Wanda taking pictures on their phones.

"Come on, really guys!" Pietro says blushing, he goes to say something else but you cut him off.

"Got a good shot guys or you want me to kiss him again." You saw Steve roll his eyes, Pietro didn't even wait for them to answer. He lifted you up guiding your legs to go around his waist. You spent the rest of the night cuddling on the couch, anxiously waiting for some alone time together.
