Like A Hawk (Clint Barton)

You were absolutely terrified of heights, it was the only thing you feared besides getting smashed by Bruce when he turned into the Hulk. It was Clint's "job" to help you get over your fear of heights. You wouldn't be a useful asset other wise right? You were borderline crying as Clint dragged you into the rock climbing section of S.H.E.I.L.D's newest training facility. "No Clint, please don't make me do this! Please, I literally can't even function with heights. Please, don't make me!" You plead, trying to get Clint to release you.

"(Y/N), I'm not letting you leave until you get up there and ring that bell! I don't want to use force but you're forcing me to here. I know you can do this, I have nothing but faith for you. I'll be right there with you the entire time." He says grabbing your shoulders and forcing you into eye contact with him. You tried to breath but couldn't, and you couldn't tell if it was because of the extreme start of fear you were in or if it was how close to Clint's face you were.

"We should bet on it, it'll give me something to shoot for." You manage to stammer out.

"Alright, how about if you don't make it to the top... You have to spend the night alone at Stark Towers with Tony." You cringed at the thought, Tony hadn't stopped hitting on you since the first second he met you. Clint laughed at your reaction, god you loved his laugh. "And if you do make it to the top and ring the bell... You get to pick what happens."

You smirk and shake your head, now's the perfect time to throw this out there. If he objects he might even let you leave. "Okay, if I make it all the way to the top yo-"

"And ring the bell." He adds.

"And ring the bell! You have to take me on a date." You say. He looks at you, shocked at first but then he breaks out into a smile. He laughs before answering.

"Alright, fair deal! I knew you liked me! (Y/N) if you wanted to go on a date with me you should've just asked. I know I'm a trained assassin but I thought it was really obvious." He says rubbing the back of his neck nervously.

"But if I get up there and ring the bell you'll go on a date with me?"

"Well I'll go on a date with you anyways but if those are the stakes then yes, I'll agree to that." He says with a smile.

"Someone get me a damn harness!!" You scream causing Clint to laugh about how serious you were about getting to the top of this wall. You clumsily pulled on your harness and walked up to the monster you were about to face. 'Do it for Clint.' was all you think to say that would motivate yourself enough to actually attempt and climb this. You attacked that wall, you didn't even think about how high you were off the ground you just focused on getting that date with Clint. With one final push off the foot hold about four feet from the top you jumped and rang the ball furiously as you gripped onto the edge of the wall, your knuckles turning bright white.

"You made it up that wall in two minutes, how is that even possible?!" You hear Clint scream from the bottom. You look down realizing you were about 75 feet from the ground. You clung to that wall as your adrenaline sped up because of fear.

"Get me down! Clint you have to get me down, I shouldn't be up this high!" You were shaking so afraid.

"(Y/N), you have to lean back in your harness so I can bring you down!" He yells. You physically couldn't move from the wall.

"Clint I can't!" You yell back down starting to cry. You hear him yell for someone to take over the rope and get him a harness and a belay. You were stuck there for what seemed like an eternity before you felt someone right next to you.

"Hey (Y/N), you ready to come down." You nodded not looking away from the wall. "Alright beautiful lets get you down. I'm going to have you lean back against me and keep your eyes shut. You just need to stay almost like you're sitting in a chair and I'll do the rest." As fast as he could Clint swung behind you and had his arms around your waist. You leaned back against his chest, doing exactly as he told you. You felt yourself start to move downwards and you panicked grabbing and holding on tight to his arms. You hear him softly whisper that everything was going to be okay into your ear repeatedly. Soon enough you both were on solid ground. As soon as you were both out of your harnesses you bear hugged Clint, knocking him to the ground. He laughed wrapping you in his strong arms pulling you as close to him as possible.

"Thank you so much!" You exclaim burying your face into his chest.

"Why don't you go home and get ready and I'll pick you up for that date around seven." He says flashing you a smile. You smile back at him before pushing yourself up his chest to meet his lips. Everyone around you started to applaud, a few wolf whistles were even thrown out there. You both smiled as you kissed. You couldn't wait to go on your first date with Clint.
