chapter 4

"I'm gonna text him to come over" Jasper says.

"No you are not!"

Let me explain. I told Jasper about my weird eye contact with William and how he followed me on instagram and even commented on my post. Of course he immediately started to play cupid and now he wants to invite William over.

"He is so sweet Ada he is perfect for you. He is also a musician and I know how pretty your voice is. Trust me with this one."

"You are delusional Jas. He is literally an celebrity."

"Fuck that. I know the guy, he really isn't like that. Let's just go out with the three of us. Maybe you could become friends. Who knows?"

I really want to say no but I'm also pretty curious. Maybe he is a sweet guy. I could definitely use some more friends.

"Alright."

"Yes! I'm gonna text him right now, hang on."

Two hours later I'm fully ready, waiting for Jasper to come downstairs. What if William comes and I have to be the one to open the door and welcome him? And then the bell rings.

"God no."

There is no sign of Jasper so I take one deep breath and go to the front door. I open it and there he is. He looks majestic. How is he so stylish?

"Hi" he says. God this is awkward.

"Hello. Wait, let me call Jasper."

I shout his name and finally hear footsteps on the stairs. He comes down and picks up his shoes quickly putting them on.

"Sorry. I'm never on time."

"It's alright" William says with an amused smile on his face.

When Jasper is finally ready, he and I take our coats and follow William to his car. We have decided we are going to the Mc Donald's since it's casual and we were all craving some burgers.

"What sort of music do you guys listen to?"

"Ada listens to Taylor Swift and Harry Styles only."

"That's not true! I like everything, older music too. I'm just a fan of Taylor and Harry."

William looks at us with a smile and puts on Harry's house. Surprisingly he sings along with every lyric to almost every song.

"This is my favorite" He says as 'daylight' comes on.

Oh my god. He has taste too. Daylight is an amazing song. It's such a vibe and I love the lyrics.

"I love daylight!"

"What's your favorite?"

"Keep driving and little freak."

"Mine is as it was" Jasper says, joining the conversation.

"Of course yours is the most local song ever" I say laughing.

"What! I just like the lyrics!"

Both of us sing along to daylight and William's voice is actually so pretty. It's a shame Jasper is singing so loud and out of tune. He doesn't even know the correct lyrics to the song even though I've played it a hundred times in front of him.

When we finally arrive after about twenty minutes I'm literally starving. We decide to go into the Mc Drive and just eat everything in the car so we can keep listening to the music.

"What do you guys want? I'll order for you."

Shit. I haven't even thought about that. What do I normally go for? Something with bacon.

"What's the one with the bacon? Something like a bacon double cheeseburger?"

"Yeah, do you want that one?"

"Yes. I'd also like an Oreo McFlurry please."

"Was that all? No fries?"

"No fries."

William orders and drives to the windows. It doesn't take that long for our orders to be done. Of course William pays and tells us it's fine. He parks the car and gives everyone their food.

"So how did you two become friends?" William asks us.

"We lived next to each other our whole life until my dad decided we had to move. Now we I have to drive three hours every time I wanna see Ada which sucks."

"It does. You gotta admit though that I'm always the one to come here."

"True. I hate long drives."

When I realize I have made no effort to get to know him I think of something I can ask him.

"And William, what do you do? Like in your free time and stuff."

"I make music with my friends and sister. Oh and of course Heartstopper."

He is casual. Like he doesn't play a role in one of the biggest Netflix series ever. Maybe it's just the way he is.

"You make music too right? Like you actually have real songs?"

"Yeah, it's pretty cool I guess. We are currently working on our EP. It's coming around well but we are just missing one last song."

When we are all done with eating he brings us back to Jasper's place and we all say our goodbyes.

"I had fun" William tells me. Jasper is already inside the house, probably in the toilet.

"Me too, see you next time William."

"Please just call me Will."

"Okay, William."

He sighs as I playfully smile at him.

"I'll see you. Right?"

"Right."

With that he gets back into his car and drives of to probably his house.
