Paradise on earth, or as most of us know it the Outerbanks. An island split directly down the middle. Those with two jobs, hustling and barely making enough to survive. And those with two houses and no sense of value. The Kooks and the Pogues. But for some of us, it wasn't that simple.

After being used to working constantly and studying harder than any normal person in order to make enough money to make ends meet, nobody can prepare you for the luxuries of being a rich girl. Those two jobs become a distant memory and school is nothing but a pastime, all that matters is whose purse is more expensive and whose daddy owns the bigger company. These were all things that never seemed possible for me, but when all of a sudden your dad lands a huge deal on his business and all of a sudden your bank account tripled in figures, anything is possible.

It all started off small, little things that we'd never usually splurge on. Until I came home one day to a new car and all of a sudden I was going to a private school and living in a house as big as the entirety of the cut. Never in my life did I imagine being forced into the doors of the Kook academy and completely ripped away from my life as a Pogue.

In all honesty, I wasn't complaining about not having to care about working enough hours to pay the rent, or staying up all night and cramming for a test in order for me to pass all my classes and get a decent job. But being separated from my friends, who definitely wouldn't like the idea of me going "full kook", wasn't ideal. I haven't had the chance to see them since we moved to Figure eight. I'd been caught up in parties and country clubs that really didn't interest me, and I knew whenever I got the chance to visit the cut, there'd be no warm welcome waiting for me when I arrived...
