When the bell finally rang for hometime, I ran out of the bathroom at long last. I didn't stop running there.I ran past all the other students exiting their classrooms, I ran out the door and I ran down the street. I ran and ran and I didnt stop running until I reached my front door. I let myself in, my heart thumping.
"Rain? Is that you?" I froze. I forgot Mum wasnt at work today. My mum is a makeup artist. She's very glamorous, always looking put together. Unlike me. Sometimes I think she's ashamed of me, for not being perfect like her.
She was standing infront of me now, hand on her hips, tossing her blonde hair over her shoulder. I used to have hair like that, before i dyed it black.
"The school rang and said you ATTACKED another student! And then you just ran off! Do you know how ashamed I am?" As she droned on and on, I pushed past her and stomped up the stairs to my bedroom, slamming the door behind me.
Mum won't let me paint my room black, she says it's too "goth", so I stuck pictures of Ed Sheeran all over the walls like ginger wallpaper. Blasting "Galway Girl" on Spotify, I lie on my bed and look at my life-size cardboard Ed cutout. He's just so handsome. What I'd give to run my hands through those fake tan coloured locks...
Suddenly, my phone buzzes. This is quite odd- people don't usually contact me, not that I mind. Curiosity gets the better of me, and I pick up my old android phone (I would NEVER have Apple.). It's an Instagram DM. When I see who it's from, my heart skips a beat.

Anyway, thanks for your message. I understand what you're feeling. Nobody gets me either. I feel like a reject most of the time. Would you like VIP tickets to my upcoming concert. We can talk backstage.
