Chapter 11:

After grabbing the weapons left in the Armory, James and Samantha decided to head back to the gas station where they had first met. It was a quiet walk, the only sound coming from their footsteps crunching on the gravel.

As they reached the gas station, they both let out a sigh of relief. The place was exactly as they had left it, with no sign of any walkers in sight. They entered the store, carefully checking every corner for any sign of danger, but it was clear.

They made their way to the back room of the store, where they had first met. Samantha broke the silence, "I never thought I'd see this place again."

James replied, "Yeah, it feels like a lifetime ago since we first met here."

Samantha nodded in agreement. "I'm sorry things turned out the way they did."

James understood what she meant, "It's not your fault. We did what we had to do to survive."

Samantha nodded, "I know, but I still wish things could have been different."

They both stood there in silence for a moment, the weight of the situation sinking in. James then spoke up, "I don't want to waste any more time, Samantha."

Samantha looked up at him, confused. James took a step forward, taking her hands in his, "I know we have been through a lot, but I don't want to lose you again."

Samantha's heart skipped a beat. She had always had feelings for James, but had pushed them aside in order to focus on survival. "James, I..."

Before she could finish her sentence, James leaned in and kissed her. It was a passionate kiss, filled with both longing and relief. When they pulled away, Samantha looked into James' eyes and knew that she had made the right choice.

After the kiss, they sat down and talked about their plans. James had heard that there was a group of survivors heading to Nebraska, and he suggested that they join them. Samantha agreed, and they both knew that they needed to get going.

As they made their way out of the gas station, they saw a figure in the distance. James and Samantha readied their weapons, but as the figure got closer, they realized that it was a man.

The man introduced himself as Kiro. He explained that he used to be an archivist before the outbreak and had been living alone since his group was attacked by walkers. James and Samantha were hesitant at first, but Kiro seemed trustworthy, so they decided to let him join them.

As they walked, Kiro told them stories of his life before the outbreak, and they learned that his full name was Kiro Valor Stevens. They were amazed by how much he knew about history and culture, and they quickly realized that he was a valuable asset to their group.

They continued walking until they came across a car that had been abandoned on the side of the road. Kiro pulled out a map and showed them the way to Nebraska. With Kiro navigating, they set off towards their new destination.

The journey was long and tiring, but they finally arrived in Nebraska. As they approached the group of survivors, James and Samantha were filled with a sense of hope. They had made it this far, and they knew that they could survive anything as long as they were together.
