I placed my hand into Serj's, letting his engulf mine. His hand fell onto my hip, pulling my smaller body toward his. My free hand grasped his shoulder.
We were silent, the only sound echoing through the room was the little cd player in the corner. The intro to the song "Linger" by the Cranberries had begun playing and Serj insisted on standing up and dancing.
If you, if you could return
Don't let it burn, don't let it fade
I'm sure, I'm not being rude
But it's just your attitudeI'd tried to act opposed, but the truth was that I had a soft spot for anything sappy.
The dim lighting of the studio and the smell of incense made the moment perfect.
Serj led the way, swaying his body and moving his feet to the music. I followed his direction, trying to keep the same pace. I wasn't ever very good at dancing, I was actually quite clumsy. Serj didn't seem to mind though.
He kept his eyes locked on mine, his lips in a permanent soft smile. He sang along in a mumble.
You know, I'm such a fool for you
You've got me wrapped around your fingerHe pressed his lips to my forehead.
Although the two of us had only been together a month or two, it seemed like we belonged together. There was an undoubtable connection, one that was unexplainable. Even in silence I could feel Serj's love.
The song playing always brought him to my mind. Although the lyrics played at the perspective of a heartbroken woman, it was still a love song in my head. Sometimes the song had even brought tears to my eyes.
I loved my man so much.
If I had a dime for every time he was on my mind, I would have only one, for he had never left my mind.
Amidst my thoughts, I let my eyes skim Serj's face. His pupils were dilated and never left my face.
My lips were drawn to his, and as if on cue he kissed me. His lips didn't leave mine until the song was almost over.
I'd always found myself wondering what I'd done to deserve him. But in that moment there wasn't a worry on my mind.
