Part II : The falling

-

Sunghoon would be a liar if he said he believed in love at first sight. He just doesn't understand it. Why do people stress about knowing that a person is meant for them the moment they see them? For the longest while he'd just brushed it off as a fantasy.

Maybe it's because he's been in the spotlight long enough to know that even though the fans adore him, it's nothing genuine and definitely not in the way he craves to be loved.

Due to his busy schedule and life, he hadn't even glanced at the thought of dating so the moment his contract had ended and he decided to live a normal life — well as normal as it could get, what with the way everyone still fawns over him, like they'd carry him on their backs if he flashed them a smile — his first thought had been if he'd find someone to date. Someone normal.

He knew it wouldn't be easy fitting in after being famous for a while, but he'd thought it'd at least be toned down. Maybe the people wouldn't be so blatant and shameless in the way they ogled at him.

Sunghoon has been walking around the building for the longest time now, he's been trying to find the office of the head of department. Every and anyone he'd asked would zone out for a short while before they'd mutter something under their breaths that he wouldn't get and he'd be too shy and awkward to ask them to repeat themselves.

So that's how he finds himself struggling to read the signs that are in English, bumping into people who apologize before he even opens his mouth until he finally, and by finally he means dragging his feet because the ladies in front of him couldn't get any louder as they giggled and whispered about him, arrived.

When they finally got out of the way, Sunghoon was starstruck. You know when people with iron deficiency talk about getting weak in the knees? Well Sunghoon feels like all the iron that has ever gone into his body has dissipated into nothingness the moment his eyes land on the guy seated across him, one leg crossed over the other.

His features are so simple yet they all gather to make up the most beautiful human he'd ever had the pleasure and luck of seeing. A button yet slanted nose, down to a pair of lips that look like they'd taste like cherries if Sunghoon ever bit into them.

Wait what?

His dainty hands are gripping his phone so hard that Sunghoon worries for the screen. Even though he looks so soft and cuddly, the veins in his hands are nothing to be called cute. Sunghoon kind of wants to see what those shiny nails would look like as they scratch on his hands and back, whether they'd be red with his blood or if they'd go pale at the knuckles from how hard he'd clench them.

Oh shit.

He's so ethereal looking and it makes Sunghoon wonder what an angel like him is doing down here with the peasants? Why aren't there a line of men at his feet? Why isn't anyone feeding him grapes to his mouth? Sunghoon feels all the air rush out of him when he sits on the chair and the man looks at him. Wow, he really must've used up all his luck and has to be the happiest man alive right at this moment because the sheer opportunity of the man sparing him a glance is everything he needs to survive the week.

But just when he's about to start admiring him, the other man gets up and heads into the office they're in front of. This is an opportunity that Sunghoon can't afford to miss. What if this is the last time he has the chance to ever see this man? And frankly, he doesn't even know when his feet are dragging him from his seated position to stand up and head into the office too. He's not against it though.
